Elliot comes from a military family so there's a good amount of pressure for him to enlist. He has 0 desire to, but to keep his family happy he's gone to a number of camps and classes meant to prep kids for the military. Elliot would've hated it and be terrible at any of the physical stuff - but maybe they could've met at one of those??

But god yes give him those talks. Elliot would be reluctant because he really doesn't want to let his family down completely -- but Eren at least probably helped encouraged him to push harder in working towards his goal of being a musician?? In return, Elliot probably would do what he could to look after Eren and actually tried harder to accomplish camp goals so he didn't hold his friend back.
