Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. LOL oh my god

at least from daisuke's side, his parents would have at least given him a bed at the minimum. a microwave too, because they knew that he didn't know how to cook much when he first moved out. then there's a drawer for his clothes. probably brought in that fridge too... but that's about it

their lives sound more and more pathetic the more we talk about them

okok i won't make naegi's parents that cruel and have them also give him a bed and a dresser and a microwave (so they have two microwaves???) and since daisuke got the fridge then naegi's parents would have left a rice cooker and.. a blender for some reason???

but they don't have a fucking dining table or chairs or a couch so they just eat on the goddamn floor staring at the wall because no tv or internet like the peasants they ar

maybe the first thing on their list is a table with chairs that they put in the living room so that they dont destroy their backs... which also probably means all their homework and stuff was probably done in the living room too

true peasants

they probably walk around the neighbourhood on trash day to see if anyone is throwing out their old furniture and then they can drag it back home

or they wake up really early to go to garage sales to buy their stuff and bargain and pool their money in together

i hope naegi had a friend or two that could drive to lug their huge loot from garage sales... they sell all kinds of stuff. sometimes they leave mattresses outside for anyone to take. or old monitors. or mirrors, even. one man's trash is another's treasure...

i can't believe they have to go through this kind of stuff before they even hit uni. these poor kids

he probably cries to kirigiri until she agrees to drive them around because ;o;

their apt looks like a blind person put it together with all the mismatching furniture and it smells like an old man's back but at least they have somewhere to actually sit and watch tv on their tiny portable tv they found in the trash

their parents are hardcore at trying to have these kids build their independence. that or just really neglectful

just cover up the smell with febreeze and scent plugs, no problem

they can pay her back with food but thinking of food, i'm thinking of having naegi work in a restaurant so he can sometimes bring home leftovers from the kitchen and that can keep the boys going on until their next paycheque

ah is that the real reason why they had all those scent plugs......

it in unacceptable to work at a restaurant while you reek of paint, naegi

that'd be a good idea, actually! i know depending on paneras (even if you're not allowed to), someone takes all the spare bread home or they throw it out because they adhere to the FRESH BAKED BREAD ONLY schtick

YEAH THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING i'll probably actually have him work at something like a cafe since i know some places also lets you take bread or pastries home and also because i want naegi to come home late sometimes and a cafe gives you both

does daisuke have any steady part-time jobs or is naegi the breadwinner here

i wonder if this is where they get all their carbs from... all thee bagels... paera does this daily, so it's like "naegi, how many bagels are you bringing..."

naegi is probably the main breadwinner tbh. daisuke gets a lot of temporary/seasonal jobs around the year with small sketch commissions every now and then, but i'm gonna say he's a jobless student round the time he gets in (and i get accepted)

parents would only give him enough for his split of the rent and a tiny bit left over, so that's going towards utilities bill regardless lol

naegi tries to bring home bagels and other baked goods everyday so then they can eat bagels for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. this is why he can make lunch for kirigiri and his friends. because he has way too many goddamn bagels for himself

lmfao why are daisuke and neagi's parents like this. do they have like a piggy bank that they share to put all their loose change in so they can one day afford a vacation or something really nice together

will this be like up

you know, for the past several days i lived the life of eating plain bagels without anything else for breakfast. it was an Experience. at least they'll have something to chew on and keep their mouths busy

i feel like if they do ever go on a vacation, they'll just have to drag along their friends for some reason... and if they don't, where would they even go? no road trip because no cars... amusement park just for the two of them? 8)a LOL
