That would be an excellent point of contact. i'm waffling on whether he should be FBI or a detective with aspirations of FBIdom (to more coincide with his canon experiences).

And he'd definitely could've met then as well. :D

On the one hand, having more cops just makes it funnier how many PC cops there are. On the other, who knows what kind of resources Gerry might have at the FBI level the local police don't?

Okay, how was Gerry in elementary school? Because Tatsuo went through a period when he was 10. His mom died, he was sent to the orphanage and therefore ended up changing schools. And for about three months he got into fights with the kids at his new school. Some of it was kids teasing him, some of it was him channeling his grief. After starting karate lessons, he stopped fighting at school.

Would Gerry like to remember this one random Japanese kid who kept brawling, or perhaps been on the receiving end of one of his fists?

that's my thought as well. I'm assuming he would collaborate with the police at least a little, given that cybercrimes do impact them as well.

he was definitely that kid who tried to be everyone's friend, though could occasionally be MASSIVELY accidentally insensitive. especially considering he comes from a well-off family.

so he'd have tried to be friendly. to... probably mixed results. :P

and contrary to what TV might have you believe, even the FBI isn't all powerful and still has to ask local jurisdictions to share relevant info

oh boy, yeah. he'd have just had to rub Tatsuo the wrong way once and POW. and then a few months later there would have been a follow up where Tatsuo awkwardly apologizes for punching him. :/

if there were still friendly overtures after that, Tatsuo would have been receptive

oh he'd definitely still be friendly, though would probably tell the story over and over. just be like "hey yeah this is my buddy the first time we met he punched me in the face. it was hilarious"

Oh yes please do that! Tatsuo is so much older than most of his CR that those who did know him when he was 10 were too young to know what was going on with him.

It will be completely hilarious. Pls tell all of his new friends what a ball of rage he was at 10.
