Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. AU NAME: Otabek Altin
AU AGE: 18
AU OCCUPATION: Freshman in college
BLURB:

♘ Otabek grew up in Kazakhstan. He comes from a music background with his mother being an opera singer and his father a pianist. He has a younger sister whose still dabbling at different instruments. His family's relatively well off and because of his parents occupation he's toured around the world with them. Otabek comes from a classical background. However, in the last year he's been swept into the DJ scene. He's done several gigs and really enjoys the modern flare classical music lacks.
♘ Otabek is 18 years old and was recently accepted to RU. He'll be entering in the fall but as soon as summer hit he was allowed to travel on his own to the city and settle in before his fall semester begins. Currently, he's sharing an apartment with someone else - two bedroom, two bathroom.
♘ He's made a small name for himself in the local nightclubs and tends to have a few gigs a month.
♘ On his off time, Otabek can be found at museums, local cafe's and the gym early in the mornings. He gets around in a motorcycle and tends to keep to himself.

LOOKING FOR:
- A roommate
- People who recognize him from his DJ'ing in some clubs
- Music nerds (classical and modern)
- Talkative people who can fill in the silence during conversations.

Classical music kid at your service. He'd be a Music major freshman (he plays violin Very Very Well) coming in the same time as Otabek, also well off but more as the poster child musician of non-musical parents to use as a conversation piece during parties and whatever, so he'd be kind of envious of familial roots like Otabek has. HE DOESN'T GET DJS WHAT ARE YOU DOING MAN but he's got a soft spot for karaoke so I'm sure they could get into debates about modern vs the classics. Lutha's also not incredibly talkative most of the time, but he's kind of a passionate snob when he gets worked up over a subject and has a really short fuse about a lot of things, so I'm sure that could come up as well.

Yes! Knew there had to be some! Otabek is entering as a Music Major too so they'll probably be taking a few classes together come fall. Coming from a relatively unknown country like Kazakhstan, he really won't have a lot of clout nor does he think he has it. He's super humble and works super hard. That includes DJ'ing. Look! The beats gets into your blood okay! He'll most likely go into classical crossover but his current DJ gigs are definitely more modern with a few classical flares. And yes! He'd love to have intellectual conversations about this b/c he's torn okay. On one hand, he grew up with classical on the other, his rebel side is demanding something a little more hardcore. LMAO. Must be a music thing. Otabek isn't all that talkative. He doesn't keep up conversations but he's polite and will answer when spoken. Still, they can nerd about music! Sadly, I don't know his canon. ;_;

It's okay! Lutha is an OC so don't worry about the canon, lmao.

Even if they butt heads about some stuff I think Lutha could definitely have a decent amount of respect for Otabek as a person, especially since Lutha would be far too used to the well-to-do being a little more upfront and aggressive rather than humble, so I think it could be some pretty interesting CR if you were up for it.

Well, his parents are well off. He's not. Why do you think he's working as a part time DJ to pay for his apartment. Otabek's the type to work for his own success, so really no one should even guess he's well to do unless they know his parents and connect the dots. He dresses regularly and aside from the fact that he's coming from out of the country to study here even that can be talked out as having received a scholarship (doesn't pay for everything but still he managed to get a scholarship through his own merit). So, yeah. They should get along. I mean, Otabek doesn't usually not get along with people. He just doesn't befriend them. He can be polite but that's different from being friends. Currently, he's got no friends and just goes about his days perfectly content. And yeah, I can already guess that they'll have some interesting CR. Otabek can taint him by bringing him to one of the clubs he's DJ'ing at.

This is a talkative person. This is a person so talkative you may never shut him up. You don't even have to respond, he'll just keep going like the energizer bunny, because engagement doesn't matter as long as your audience is captive. Or not captive. Walk away, it's fine, he'll follow you. Still talking.

He sounds perfect! Please talk at him all you want! Otabek needs a talkative person otherwise he'll never have conversations. Poor bastard doesn't know how to keep a conversation going. He's not rude though so he'll never snap at him for being too talkative. But he might give him food for silence if he keeps on going and going. :|

A captive audience and free food? Buddy, you're his new best friend.

Food it is then! Who knows maybe one day Otabek might even start a conversation. Still, this sounds like it could lead to some interesting CR!

Blithe! Slams into I'M SORRY WORK HAS BEEN NUTS finally rolls on here and says hello! I've got... Yuri............ HAHAHA he's 17 rn in game and liable to be going out on the club scene because he has to learn how to dance with other people one on one instead of in groups for #reasons

Basically I'm here if you want to think of anything to have them run into each other in the future (or not, I'm easy)! Yuri's remembered Otabek in one of his regains, but it's disconnected and he's 75% sure it's his friend and also that somehow this guy is a skater. Too. Because all Yuri remembers is about skater dudes.

Museums are more of his "school made me go" passtime (unless they have statues that are, to him, impressive), cafes he pops in and out of for food as he has the spare cash, and if he's in the more affordable apartments in town, Yuri lives there on his own (living the dream only, you know, that dream is a difficult one to live). But yes! Those are just details to toss out, lmk if you want to actually discuss anything or whatnot.
