Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! AU NAME: Peter Hoboken
AU AGE: Early twenties
AU OCCUPATION: Police Officer
BLURB:
* Born in Recolle to a single mother who he lives with and dotes on.
* He's the sort of person with a lot of varied talents from academic to creative to physical, but circumstances meant turning down all the opportunities he had (an out of state art school, a military scholarship) for one reason or another, ultimately preventing him from ever uprooting. Most of it amounts to mundane reasons like financial concerns or not wanting to leave his family.
* Eventually he settled for a job that would keep him in Recolle with his mother.
* Mostly accepting of his lot in life, except that a repressed sense of wanderlust seeps out sometimes.
* He's not a full true nerd but he's open to it basically. He reads fantasy books and joined a birdwatching group.
* Which might come as a surprise to anyone who knows him otherwise, because he is the biggest i-dotting, paper-pushing, protocol-reciting stickler you're unfortunate to meet/work with.
* Also has an outright frightening case of resting bitchface, though he is actually very harmless.

LOOKING FOR:

* COPS. Anyone else in law enforcement or would have even the most tangential relationship to it, whether they be fellow patrol officers, superiors, rookies, forensics scientists, regular visitors, regular criminals...
* SPEAKING OF CRIMINALS Potemkin in canon has an ornery and sometimes antagonistic relationship with several good-hearted outlaws, and it would be great if he still managed to have a similar dynamic in AU form. It doesn't matter if the stakes are much lower and the crimes are less dramatic, in fact it's actually kinda funnier that way.
* Actual jerks would also be cool, especially since Potemkin/Peter has an infinitely long fuse and will put up with practically anything they give him until they actually cross one of his lines.
* People who may be unknowingly a secret witness who are onto his nerdier interests. Maybe someone notices that Peter is the type to go by his full real name online...

This is mostly a Copy Paste of last time. I am drowning in guilt for missing out on the last app round everyone was so nice to me. I am completely down with picking up anything discussed last post!

Oh my gosh, Potemkin!

So, Penelo here is sort of tangled up with the Recolle police force in that Gabranth is a cop and a family friend of hers. She herself is a nerdy type who runs a youtube channel that reviews books/games/etc and goes to school for programming. She's also probably the type to have picked up on his nerdy interests. By, you know, being an internet troll and all too.

Thank you for recognizing him, it always is a pleasant surprise for me.

It would be cute if Potemkin ended up entangled Penelo's web personality, especially if he doesn't connect the dots for himself with the girl he's seen at maybe public events and the like. He would either silently like videos or leave only completely straightlaced comments.

Hey I like GG a lot, and he's super cool so yes!

And I like that quite a bit. Some sort of dual relationship, occasionally chatting online via comments because he's actually respectful and neither one of them really puts it together until maybe she brings up something in a video that makes it click.

Or maybe when they're having chitchat in person Penelo says something that's just familiar enough it gives him deja vu, and boom!

Potemkin is pretty much constantly on point with his Responsible Adult act, so she would be privy to a part of Potemkin that doesn't come out as often. Feel free to be weirded out by that, Penelo...
