AU NAME: Akira Kurusu
AU AGE: 17
AU OCCUPATION: STUDENT!! But he works at a cat cafe part-time.
BLURB:

• Family straight from Japan, but moved to Recolle for a clean slate. His father got charged for manslaughter, so... Yeah. They thought this would be a good idea?
• He has been in Recolle since he was ~7, but he remembers how the community treated his dad back in Japan. Still a nice life in Recolle. Not bad.
• He owns a black cat named Morrigan. Morrigan is really loud.
• As a hobbyist, he likes to build stuff mostly. his room is probably plagued with miniature buildings, ships, helicopters, and robots.
• He stopped doing that because he cluttered the hell out of his room. He's learning magic tricks now.
• He's used to people avoiding him before because of his family's rep, so he keeps to himself even in Recolle. It's out of habit, but there's definitely some deep underlying suspicion.
• Doing well in school, planning to enroll into university. Not sure of direction yet.
• He feels like there's something missing in his life, so he really likes the horror and thriller genre. The adrenaline fills in the void.
• Mid tier geek culture. His power levels are easy to hide, but he plays mobile games sometimes.

he also takes a lot of courage tests and challenges that are posted online for the experience. nothing like checking out a haunted houses and shady alleys by yourself!!

protags are great!! but I'm also biased. camille (cheerful, kind of air-headed and 1 year older) will be working at six's cat cafe so they may or may not be co-workers. either way, they might be crew/guild mates in some mobile game & I don't have her au history set in stone yet so we can have anything from childhood friend to friend to pretty much anything!

she won't be stopping him from dangerous stuff because she's the kind to rush in herself but she will stand by his side at least??

a cat cafe with an actual purrista, how cute!! i wouldn't mind them being co-workers at all. maybe they can learn later on that they're in the same crew/guild, too, then finally get to know each other and become friends. it'll be a weird, but nice experience for him.

but if you want childhood friend, they can be partners in crime. exchanging info about their next joyride, etc. i'm fine with either.

I would absolutely love Ryoji to be his friend, either pre-established or in the future but I sort of dug myself a hole in having him move back to Recollé in the past year, so they wouldn't have known each other for long

I also have Mafuyu who could know him since he moved to Recollé! Only she would encourage, not stop him from doing dangerous stuff adflkjh

i don't mind a pre-established friendship and we can somehow work that out, but friendship building is also my jam. it fuels me like nothing else.

this will be weird and funny to have cr where they do bad things and then Takumi has to berate Mafuyu, but that sounds great, too. i'll die in laughter at the duality.

but!! six could definitely by the type of friend that stops akira from doing dangerous things half the time yet enables him the other half. (he tries to be more mature because he's older but sometimes. sometimes. it's hard.) he pretty much just keeps to himself, so maybe we could work the kindred spirits angle?!

it can be something dramatic like them kind of knowing each other as outcasts in high school... and then six discovering akira holding an umbrella over a stray cat in the rain. six could probably be the one to offer him a job at the cat cafe, too!

Fawkes is 23 at this point in-game so he's a little outside of the age bracket for classmates/friends but possibly he could be a rad senpai of some variety?

so there's a couple of different things i want to help with here depending on what you're up for...?!

anya is part of the group in recolle that is absolutely obsessed with cats apparently... she has one of her own? and she's also lived in recolle all her life and would be the type to approach people without much concern or judgment? so even if he kept to himself, she would've said hi - especially since she had full grasp of english growing up so if you still need a childhood friend that would be like "please wait" she's here??

or generally just a friend! she'll be enrolled in the high school still too, so i'm up for whatever!

Obvs protag needs more pesky social links confidants, right? Yosuke won't really be able to help with the cat thing, but he does know two protags that could...

But he's been in Recolle since he was 12, so about 4-5 years. Also from Japan! And he'll be a senior in HS this next school year. Also got no clue what he wants to do with his life so he's just winging it.

oh god, yukine can help in a lot of those areas.

He's viable s a schoolmate, doesn't care at all about reputation or anything because he's a misfit himself (transferred for breaking school windows after all), and he's pretty into video games and other basic stuff. Yukine is also absolutely in love with all the cats and volunteers at the shelter from time to time.

..But most importantly he's really good at playing "the straight man" and keeping friends from doing crazy stuff. He didn't really have friends until moving here tho so it's up to you! He's free as a casual childhood friend or someone he ended up getting really close to recently or any other consideration? LMK!

full disclosure: I looked at when he moved in and went "oh hey he moved into recolle when he was seven and silver was eight when he moved in but he's a year older, wait a minute isn't that around the same time then" and now I'm here

Would you object to some form of friends from a younger age? Silver would be in the grade above him so they don't even have to be particularly close (although I won't object to closeness either, maybe one of them decked a kid for picking on the other one, it's like five in the morning and I'm throwing out ideas idk) but I like the idea of a friendship forged in new kid panic, idk. bonus: he'll share all of his notes
