AU WORKSHOP - APRIL Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. CHARACTER'S NAME: Terra
CANON: Kingdom Hearts
AU NAME: N/A
AU AGE: 22
AU OCCUPATION: College student, working towards an American History degree. Does a hefty amount of volunteer work with ReVA, as well as a part-time bar-tending gig at night.
BLURB:
- Quiet, well mannered individual who keeps his problems to himself for the most part.
- Tall, strong, tends to have an unintentionally intimidating presence.
- Tends to be extremely dense when it comes to complicated matters. Or math. Or science. Really, history is the only subject he's good at and is surprisingly passionate about it if you can get him talking about it.
- Grew up a good, upstanding boy in Recolle, lucky enough to get extremely tall extremely early, so he ended up fighting off lot of bullies in defense of the smaller kids.
- Lived with his single Father most of his life, who became increasingly aggressive and strict towards him as Terra got older. Not physically abusive, but verbally so. Never bothering to try to understand Terra, a rift formed between them around the time Terra was twelve, and progressed to the point that Terra's Father was constantly mocking, insulting, and degrading Terra when Terra, try as he might, was never able to get grades up to his Father's standards.
- Not wanting to go home anymore, Terra fell into a bad crowd of kids at his high school, and started to feel at home with them. Over time, he became more and more involved with things like beating up other students, shoplifting, vandalism, and at worst, a couple of stabbing incidents.
- Eventually his conscience gets the better of him and he cuts off his punk friends around when he gets into college, absolutely riddled with guilt and looking for any way to make up for the things he allowed to happen right in front of him, he mends his relationship with his Father enough to the point that he agrees to help pay Terra through school.
- Still angsty and guilt ridden, Terra finds himself invited to some volunteering events by Minako and finally finds something that makes him feel a bit better about himself. This is where most of his time and attention gets devoted to!
- Occupies a part time job in a bar, hired for the fact that he's an intimidating guy who can put a stop to the nonsense if need be.
LOOKING FOR:
- Childhood friends that he once protected in middle school but later abandoned?
- Bad influences that he fell in with during high school?
- Fellow volunteers?
- The owner of a bar he can work at?
- Colleagues, classmates, dorm mates, pretty much anything!

First of all, I'm excited to see Terra! I also think the outline you've got for him so far is pretty good. I really like the way you've pinned down how Terra swung from one end of the moral scale to the other and what he's doing now to help him feel better and alleviate past guilt. It's very interesting for him.
In terms of CR! I currently play Luke Castellan from the Percy Jackson book series as a 23 year old who runs his own bar and is usually looking for hired help since...Luke...is an idiot...and works a lot himself. It's a bar that he has open to minors in the afterschool hours and then the night crowd as well. He also tends to find himself dragged around in various volunteer gigs though not via Minako so they have that similarity as well. (Plus he knows and like Minako enough so there's that, too.) Those are my main points really!
--on the other hand I'm also planning on apping someone who's also actually a college student (Hiro Hamada) but he's 15 and small and a nerd so /waves hands.

I could imagine that being the bar that Terra is a regular at, and occasionally offers Percy his bartending services during the especially busy nights when they might need some extra help with this or that? As well as just talking generally about their volunteer stuff. Maybe he comes to Luke with his problems sometimes?
ALSO if you do app Hiro I think it would be sublime if Hiro somehow ended up as Terra's tutor for a class that he really sucks at???

Maybe Terra knows that Prompto is in university with him, but never really talks to him because he feels so guilty about not sticking with him all the way through school. Once Terra starts doing things to clear his conscience, I could see him having come to Prompto's place and sincerely apologizing and asking to be friends again?

as far as prompto would be concerned, they were never not friends? and prompto probably holds terra in high regards regardless because of how he, in a way, helped prompto grow into his own skin and be braver for those around him
you know, character development and all that. now prompto will feel like at least now they're at the same level, and he can help terra, too.

How would you feel about Isa and Terra pppossibly being related... because I uh. For Isa's non-blue hair, I ended up going with brown and Isa looks a weird amount like Terra. (Also, I think it'd be funny because Lol Norts...) Isa's four years older than Terra, so maybe they're, like, cousins?

I currently have Aqua set around the same age and also attending RU for its nursing program, so they could potentially meet up on campus or share the odd class together. Plus, she works part-time at Luke's bar so they could meet up and hang out there. She'll be a good influence she swears!

I would totally love for them to know each other at school!! And honestly I went and snooped and looked at your own workshop post and basically I love your AU and it kind of mirrors Terra's own, wherein they both had not so great relationships with their Dads but dealt with it in kind of opposite ways. Aqua is probably the good influence that this Terra needs to stay on the straight and narrow path.
I also think it would be cute if they incidentally met once when they were kids?? Terra grew up in Recolle but maybe they had a chance meeting when Terra came along on a business trip of his dad's?? Food for thought??

Ahaha, I think it's great that the only set of Keykids that have a parental figure will have crappy relationships with them. It's perfect.
OH GOSH YES. I can't YES enough to that idea. They would probably hit it off and swap emails/IMs until they meet up again in college? She could be his weird online confidant when he goes through his bad boy phase:)
