AU OCCUPATION: High school student
BLURB:

- born and raised in japan but was given up for adoption at a very young age. a woman took him in (elda marker) and raised him since he was around 5 years old. he has an older sibling (silver) who was also adopted
- he's still really smart for his age; he skipped first grade, so he's a little young for being a junior in high school.
- he enjoys figure skating and also plays soccer for his high school. he spends more time playing soccer but took skating lessons from elementary school to middle school, currently on break
- without all of the added responsibilities of being a shinigami captain in canon, toushiro acts more his age: bratty, moody, and more open with his emotions than he is in canon. just a little bit. he's a little easier to talk to and possibly befriend, but it's still gonna take a lot of work! he's also responsible and probably gets asked by people if he can do their homework for him like all the time
- uses social media sparingly so he knows what memes are but he just doesn't get it
- likes cats.
- he researches japanese culture a lot because he wants to be in touch with his roots. hasn't spoken to his biological parents since they gave him up for adoption
- other hobbies: reading, calligraphy, occasionally plays video games but he's kind of a filthy casual.
- also he's still super short like he's slowly growing but right now he's at 4'10"
secretly wants to learn ikebana on the side

LOOKING FOR: a sibling who was adopted with him! (taken) childhood friends. people to annoy him and pester him about school stuff. sports friends. people who are willing to get him to open up more...... enemies are welcome too, it's not that hard to get on his bad side

...even though that really no longer applies BUT Jack and Toushiro could still totally be frands. Sports friends, maybe? Jack plays hockey but knows figure skating and is seen a lot in the rink just doing that sometimes as a way of stress relieve and the like.

Also, he sells ice cream at a ice cream place.

also shiro totally buys ice cream from jack and says "it's for my brother"

That could work, yeah! Jack went to the rink a lot anyway because of his little sister. Although he loses his sister around 6th grade, so he when he stopped hockey for a bit, he probably still went to the rink a lot to help cope and think.

C'mon, Shiro, you don't need to make up a reason to buy ice cream! Jack won't make fun!

mafuyu is going to be a sophomore, so she would possibly pester him about school stuff, please do her homework for her. i don't currently have any plans for her to be on a sports team, but she would also practice soccer with him! and by practice i mean she will kick the ball as hard and as far as she can towards the goal, she has no sense of teamwork and will never pass the ball so toushiro will get a lot of practice stealing

Were you thinking he was adopted and then moved overseas at the same time? Yosuke was in Japan until he was 12 and then moved over here. So something is possible!

hmm i want to say he was given up in an orphanage in recolle! his parents probably brought him there for reasons which i haven't decided yet but he was adopted when he was...five, i believe!

we can always have them be classmates since toushiro's a junior and the smart kid so there's that too!
