AU NAME: Hinoka Minamoto (shout out to Takumi for saving me the trouble of thinking too hard about a surname!)
AU AGE: 22
AU OCCUPATION: College student, part time judo instructor
BLURB:
- Takumi's older sister, so everything about his family applies here too.
- Not confident enough in her cooking skills to work at the bakery, but helps the family business how she can.
- Studying veterinary medicine at Recolle U. Has a particular interest in horses.
- Currently living in the dorms.
- Not exactly a social butterfly, insomuch as she doesn't go out of her way to interact with people, but doesn't shy away from social situations like a certain friendless loser, and definitely easy to get along with.
- Semi-pro MMA competitor in her spare time. Sends all prize money to support her family. Currently undefeated.
- Rides a motorcycle. Her name is Artemis. You can't touch her.
- Lowkey mom friend.

1: Judo? You said the magic word to grab my attention.

2: So did all of her Equine Med classes turn into studying birds?

Confession time: I went with judo because karate seemed too obvious. I'm honestly keeping what martial art she practices flexible until I'm more set in what I'm doing with her.

Oh, but Judo's awesome, though. And any female MMA fighter who knows her stuff knows at least some Judo. It's just throwy chokey instead of punchy kicky, so whatever works.

Oh, yeah, she'd know some, I'm just not sure what her specialty would be, mostly (I've only ever boxed, myself, so I'll have research to do either way).

Hinoka! I play her too and I'm excited to see her around.

I have two options. First is Penelo (Penelope in the au) from FFXII. She is a college student herself, 21ish, currently in game as a 2nd year programming student and a youtuber. She's sort of an athletic nerd who pops into martial arts classes now and then. Could be a sometimes student, former roommate, classmate for general education classes, or other things.

The other option is Chrom, dork lord of Ylisse. If I don't app him this round, I'll app him next. He's older, athletic, retired military turned massage therapist and probably someone who'd hang out around the gyms. He's totally lame but it'd be fun to have them hang out.

Can I just say that Massage Therapist Chrom is the most hilarious mental image I've had all day, and I need it in my life? (I wish I was bringing a character that would tease him about happy endings, but sadly, I play the wrong princess for that)

BUT YEAH It def would be cool having them hang out, especially when they start getting their memories back and realizing they're both royalty. SOMETHING TO BOND OVER!

I'm less canon-familiar (I stopped after X), but Penelo absolutely sounds like the sort of person Hinoka could end up hanging out with! Martial arts and gen ed would be the most likely ways for them to meet, but I'm just generally all about fellow athletic nerds to have her spar with.

Exactly. I'm going to try for this month but school and life may mean waiting until June. Grad school and full time job :(

And tbh I can't say I blame anyone for stopping at X, XII is basically a single player mmorpg. But I think that would work well. And as memories come back comparison of fantasy worlds is definitely something that should happen.

Angel over here will also be a 20-something college student (though in grad school) who lives in the dorms, so they could have bumped each other between classes OR maybe met as dorm neighbors/roommates? I'm down for whatever, honestly.

I am one hundred percent down for making them roommates if you're up for that, tbh. Plus, she's working toward grad school herself, so it'd be rad to have someone to go to for advice, or just to commiserate with over their respective workloads.

But I am super duper down for it! Angel will share all her grad school secrets, starting with an efficient way to replace your blood with caffeine. Commiserating is also excellent? College is painful, more news at 11.

Man, I feel like I brought someone from the wrong Fire Emblem to this party! Maybe someday I'll play one of my Fates off of you, but for now we've just got this dork here

Robin in the AU is a former military chaplain turned librarian, but he's also likely to keep himself in decent shape after leaving his old career-- so, potential gym friend if not someone she runs into while she's studying.

I'm down to clown with this! Plus, if he and Chrom are still tight in this AU, that's a mutual friend they got themselves right there.

Additional random idea: she joins him for a chess match one day on a whim, gets destroyed because, y'know, it's Robin, but because she's really competitive, she refuses to give up until she can beat him, and now they meet up to play every week. Regardless of how long this has been going on, she still hasn't won.

Oh yes, they're so tight that Chrom is the reason Robin's hair will go white!

And gosh, that actually sounds like an awesome way to do things. Excellent idea!

I AM GLAD YOU THINK SO. Slowly but surely, she will learn the ways of the master.

Heyyy Yato here frequents the family bakery but ASIDE FROM THAT for a long time he dabbled in any kind of work he could get his hands on so!! Maybe he did a brief stint in MMA fighting?? if one does brief stints in mma fighting lmao... He did/does a lot of street fighting so he probably thought it might work out but apparently didn't like it much in the end?!

idk if they would have actually fought in the octagon unless mixed sex fights are a thing here, but maybe they could've tussled some at the same gym or something :O

I could see them as sparring partners/workout buddies, if nothing else! And if he's the sort of homeless person who panhandles for spare change, Hinoka is probably the sort of person who he'd remember for leaving him a twenty one time.

Aha, he's more the type to throw together a street performance for money than straight up panhandle but he will certainly take that twenty!!! He is also pretty social toward the people who tolerate him, so he probably has been more the one to seek her out than the other way around...

She probably creamed him a lot when they sparred because his fighting is more... undisciplined...? Not as suited to a controlled environment... but I like to think he puts up a decent fight and makes up in scrappiness lmao

That works even better tbh. And you'd be amazed what she's able to tolerate, so that is exactly the sort of CR I would be keen on. She just doesn't have the heart to tell him to go away.

Between him here and Asama and Setsuna in canon, she's just a magnet for weirdos, isn't she.

but definitely, if it's alright with you, makoto will go to hinoka when he needs pampering and someone to patpatbrush his hair and then kick his ass into gear (i hope she wrestles him to motivate him)

Definitely here for the MMA CR! Freya's family (unfortunately?) talked her into pursuing something more respectable than punching people's faces for a living, but she's still got a passion for it, and still entertains the thought of doing it competitively. Frequent sparring buddies at the gym, perhaps? Something else?
