Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. AU NAME: Robin Thorrsson (surname still pending)
AU AGE: 30
AU OCCUPATION: Former military chaplain with an overseas medical unit, a la M*A*S*H; currently working in a religious archive in Recolle and may assist in the library at Recolle University on occassion.
BLURB:
-Robin is an exceedingly intelligent and very friendly man who is currently in the process of changing careers after his time in the military
-His parents died when he was in his teens and he forewent the adoption process. Instead, he entered into religious studies in hopes of helping people as a way of paying forward all the help he received when he was younger.
-He has no living family that he knows of, but he looks at his friends as a kind of extended family
-He left the military because he couldn't take seeing people he knew personally get hurt any longer.
-Much of his personality remains consistent with canon-- he's a friendly bookworm who is just as willing to play pranks and jokes alongside/with the people he's close to. He has a dorky streak, and is incredibly optimistic.
LOOKING FOR: Friends of all sorts, people he can goof around with, potential mishaps with his love life that may or may not include at least one stalker....

tl;dr, I'm down for almost anything. Peers, people to mentor, fellow book nerds, that weird person who is his friend for reasons no one can fathom. You name it, I'm down.

Orion's messy, kind of reclusive, a total shithead who doesn't care what others think. Why would he befriend a friendly bookworm? That's like... almost the opposite of his taste in people he gets stuck hanging out with.

Which is also exactly why the friendly bookworm has made it his project to drag this weirdo around! XD

Fantastic! Drag him to all the places, Robin. He won't know what to do with himself and will likely just stand like a tall ball of awkward with his hands stuffed in his pockets.

Orion will have moved here all of eight years ago. Is there a specific timeframe in which you would like them to have become friends?

Robin just moved back to town recently, so likely any time in recent months. He's been stationed abroad the last several years.

oh my god oh my god ROBIN...

Minako is a student at RU and works at the info desk for students, so she might occasionally send them his way by telling them to look for the man reading the books that he's supposed to be shelving or something laughs

other than that I've got nothing but I love FE:A and I love Robin so please don't mind when I throw this tiny redhead at him...

And oh my gosh-- I hope you enjoy Robin. I picked him up on a whim while doing a replay-- he was not the muse I expected, to tell the truth.

Ooh military chaplain! :D Well Karl here is a priest at the local Catholic church and he actually has a B.A. in Religious Studies from his college/seminary. Also in his canon life he is basically the postapoc American version of a Knight Hospitaller so that could dovetail nicely.

I figure Robin also has a BA in Religious Studies along with several psych classes/certifictions to put under his belt, which he got when he was younger, and is currently completing a degree in Library Science to work in a local religious archive. I haven't figured out what denomination he follows yet, but he's the sort who would take a Humanist perspective on matters to help people. Interactions with someone acting as a proper priest might be very interesting.

Ahhh Robin!! Did you say weird fathomless friend, because Yato could fit that description!! He hangs out in the library sometimes because it costs no money to do so, taking naps on the couches and occasionally actually reading something... Maybe he was bored one day and asked complete stranger Robin for a recommendation and they got to talking??

You know what? That's just crazy enough to work for the guy who obsessively befriends everyone in the whole damn army!

Nah. He's left the military these days anyway-- and besides, he was a chaplain in a medical unit. It gets tiring seeing so many nice people get hurt all the time, so Robin decided that enough was enough. He doesn't want his hair to turn white before he's 40!
