AU NAME: Rock Howard
AU AGE: 17
AU OCCUPATION: Student!
BLURB: So in canon, Rock is the son of a notorious crime boss and all-around horrible douchecanoe who ended up being raised by aforementioned notorious crimeboss and all-around horrible douchecanoe's rival after he died. Throwing himself off the top of his own building because he's a fucking drama queen.

His mother had died prior to that due to sickness, and part of the reason why Rock hated his dad outside of him being a horrible human being who would kill anyone who stood in his way was that he wouldn't come visit or help his mother while she was sick. then blah blah continuing legacies blah blah must find out truth behind mother's death because my uncle who may or may not use me for his own purposes planted a seed of doubt in my mind blah blah blah. (actual legitimate drama/story from a fighting game. who knew.)

Anyway - this AU version isn't going to have much of that. Marie still is dead, but this time from childbirth complications, and the AU version of Geese (... which I'm probably changing his name to George or something because wtf SNK) isn't a colossal toolbag for once. So he's more isolated rich kid, really. He does have a bit of a mischevious streak, riding his motorcycle and sneaking out at night when he gets a chance.

In canon, Geese's "business" was touted as a security firm on the surface (with more police corruption and gang violence underneath), but I'm not 100% sure what (if) Howard Connection will be in the AU version. Maybe something similar.

LOOKING FOR: Friends! People to break him out of his shell a bit, classmates, people who work under his dad or those that might just recognize him due to his dad.

Are you thinking that the AU business would be 100% legit or "seeming legit, a little shady underneath"? Because the latter is completely the thing Naoto would be interested in investigating.

it can go either way tbh, but it might be more fun if it's the latter honestly - but probably not to the extent of how bad it was in canon hoo boy :'|

granted it would be interesting to see how Rock would react to being not as privy to the shadiness, not gonna lie.

Naoto loves reading stuff online and then investigating for herself so she might be trying to do ~student amateur investigation~ of this company.

It would be possible if I bring him in, definitely! And like I said, Rock probably wouldn't be nearly as privy to all of it as he is in canon (having been raised by Terry and knowing off the bat how bad things were on the outset) - so it'd be an interesting conflict of interest (and springboard for CR/pre-established ideas if someone ever decided to actually bring in dear old dad).

Fair! Let me know if you do decide to bring him in because that's something I'd love to play with Naoto.

Fighting game friends!

Potemkin is a little younger than canon in this AU but probably still an adult to Rock. Maybe they meet through one of Rock's late night escapades? He can give him a speeding ticket...

Look, Officer Potemkin doesn't care how your parents are going to react...no matter who they are!

pfff knowing how Rock's shaping up so far, he'd be more worried about pops finding out in the first place and would try to take care of everything himself (to varying degrees of success, probably)

alternatively if he doesn't end up getting app'd in right away, I do have this bodyguard who went to school to be a cop but ended up on a security team instead ~~and who may or may not take a few cues from a certain Queen-loving grumpass in his original form~~

That doesn't sound great for Potemkin ahaha. Why do the annoying rebellious types always have to end up being the massively overpowered ones...

not a whooole lot of connection here, since May tends to resent "rich" people for whatever that's worth, but i still want them to have CR

I'm honestly still debating on whether or not he really advertises that he's from money - probably not so much but y'know dad's fairly known so he can't really escape it - and part of that fuels why he sneaks out/acts up rather than just outright hating his old man. It's definitely a different dynamic than canon, that's for sure. (though that does remind me to dig up that old nightmare post a friend helped co-write ages ago involving Rock vs. Nightmare Geese. It was a blast :) )

but yeah, that's a good question. depending on the degree of shadiness(tm) involved with Howard Connection and if Rock's dragged into it at one point or another, they could run into each other. otherwise I'd be fine with some minor antagonistic CR tbh.

hell i can almost imagine rock being envious of may's relative freedom. she's the uncaged bird in this scenario.

yeah, i can see that too, especially once he starts getting memories of having his own (relative) freedom growing up with Terry.

i get the impression this isn't so much a good "pre-established" thing but something we can really grow them into and i am HERE FOR THIS

agreed! it'll be an interesting dynamic to work around once things get going.
