BLURB:

• Aster is a 15 year old girl who happened to start making it big on YouTube around the age of 13. She plays guitar and sings for her videos. Hiro Hamada (zerotohiro), another Youtuber, is her best friend, and she absolutely adores her dad, Frank (batches). She's also pretty close with her aunt Penelo (mincingminuet).
• She's!! A musician!! Her dad probably started getting her lessons when she started asking for them around age nine or so. She's always loved music and has a pretty voice. At some point she started recording the songs she'd sing and decided to post them online, and was shocked at her own popularity.
• Most of the songs she does are acoustic covers, but she dabbles in original things here and there. She struggles with songwriting so she tends to shy away from it.
• She's lived with her dad in Recollé for about two years and she's a student at Recollé High. They have a dog that she loves to pieces.
• In part due to being a YouTube star, Aster is very outgoing and bubbly, often and very easily social. She can be insecure sometimes, as she took it especially hard when she first started getting popular - and thus, started getting mean comments. But support from her family and her friends has kept her grounded and she's mostly over any online harassment she received, or still receives.
• Aster brings her guitar with her everywhere, even to school each day. It's a special 3/4 size acoustic that better suits her small frame and small hands, and has very pretty carvings and inlays. Her dad got it for her at a flea market when she was just ten.
• She's an above-average student with an interest in computer science that stems almost entirely from having Hiro for a best friend. Still, she's actually pretty good with computers, though doesn't really have any ambition to do anything with that skill.
• Though she's had less time for them as her YouTube fame has grown, Xion actually really loves sports and used to be on the track team until she got too busy. Now she just runs as a hobby/way to exercise.
• Her handle as a YouTuber is "Xion," which she came up with when she first started out.
• Her dad shows up in her videos sometimes. You guys. She really loves her dad because he's The Best.
• She's got a soft spot for all cute things but most especially dogs and will go gaga over them.
• In her spare time she's a total nerd who absolutely LOVES all things Disney and plays video games.
• Mostly she's a pretty well-adjusted teenage girl of minor celebrity who is pretty happy most of the time and loves her family and her friends!
• That said, she has no idea what to do in the future. She doesn't know if she can translate YouTube fame into a real career, and harbors concerns about what she'll do when she graduates high school.
• Aster also carries some guilt over her dad being a teenage parent and having to sacrifice so much to raise her. She worries she's an undue burden on him and that she might've been a "mistake" in his life, though she hasn't told anyone this (aside from maybe Hiro).

LOOKING FOR: Hey YouTuber scene let's hook up!!! I think there are a few others around. Even fans of hers, laughs, if you're into that sort of thing. Xion would be really active with her fan community so she's probably spoken to some of her more involved fans. I want her to have classmates!! And friends!! So fellow students, please let's make some plans! Teachers are welcome too, of course. Fellow musicians? People to collab with on videos and songs? Past track teammates? Disney nerds??? that would be so cute! xion's that person who started out sitting in her computer chair singing to her webcam but she's probably upgraded since. she moved to recolle when she was fourteen and she was making videos by then so maybe they met through school or sports and then started working on her videos together?

also i feel like frank would have definitely wanted to have xion learn some forms of martial arts or self-defense stuff, so he would want her involved in things like that. quite possibly teaches her marine stuff too. look, aster, this is how you FLIP SOMEONE OVER AND DESTROY THEM

i know we've talked a bunch more abut a bunch more details since then but still I AM GLAD TWIN!! some of this was planned but a lot of it i came up with on the spot, laughs, so i am glad it works out.

PLEASE TEACH YOUR TINY DISNEY PRINCESS DAUGHTER TO FLIP AND KILL A MAN. IM 100000% INTO IT. maybe i'll just say she was in track and doing judo and quit track bc of time but still does judo like. once a week.

Okay so yo this is Abi and I unfortunately don't think Dante and Aster would really have starting CR BUT I want ur thoughts bc Dante is a YT troll, he doesn't really go out of his way to try and make himself famous or anything (and all his vids are specifically filmed so that only his hands are ever visible) and he mostly just uploads piano vids, sometimes starting really dumb wars with other musicians a la "nobody can make 'it's a small world' sound good just try it"

what if he did a piano accompaniment to one of her songs and sent it to her and that's all

makoto would totally be subscribed to her channel, because in this au his parents had him learn to play the piano; so he dabbles in making covers of her covers in piano, but her stuff is good help for his lesser knowledge of the guitar

i'd love for them to meet some time... maybe post-app period, gradually?

(makoto is currently living the Harbouring Concerns About What To Do After High School Graduation life, so that's a thing)

as for prompto!! he's becoming fast friends with penelo, so i'm trying to find ways to have him shove himself into this sweet, sweet family of youtube stars rubs hands together

If Aster carries her guitar around at school, James/Bucky has probably come up to her at one time or another and questioned her about it and tried to join her to play together because he, too, carries his guitar around everywhere. (Although 'joining her' would probably be more like silently initiating a music battle because everything is a competition as far as James is concerned.)

So Aqua is Not Musical At All, but she loves music, especially before swim competitions a la Phelps style. So I think Xion's stuff would be something she'd listen to.
