AU OCCUPATION: university student, aspiring detective
BLURB:

I'm still hashing a lot of this out, but here's what I have so far:
•She's from a family of detectives, who used to be really well-known before they suddenly disappeared from the public eye.
•She was born in Japan, but most of her childhood was spent travelling, and she moved around quite a few times when she was younger.
•After her mother's mysterious death and her father's disappearance shortly after, Kyouko moved back to Japan to live with her grandfather where she lived until she decided to move to Recolle for university.
•She's currently studying forensics, and hopes to be a detective someday to restore her family's name and possibly figure out what really happened to her parents.
•Kyouko also works on cold cases she comes across, or on cases that people hire her for. She's still working on getting the hang of detective work, but being with her parents while they worked on cases when she was younger has given her a head start.
•Her personality is mostly the same! She's still quiet and often comes off as pretty cold, due to moving around a lot before and not wanting to get close to others as a result. She does have a soft spot for her friends, even if she's still somewhat guarded around them.
•She's also closed off when it comes to her past as well, since she doesn't like talking about it.
•As for hobbies, she enjoys playing the piano and shopping. She also spends a lot of the time in the library doing research on either her own family or for cases she's taken on. Kyouko also spends quite a bit of time studying, since she takes her schoolwork seriously and is determined to at least be near the top of her class.
•She also has a weakness for cute things.

LOOKING FOR:

•Maybe people she met when she traveled when she was younger?
•Anything really! I'm open to whatever ideas anyone has!

it's lucy! but CONSIDER if you do app: levy mcgarden here could be a best friend maybe??? look. she's friendly and intelligent and they're both originally from japan and lost their fathers? and she doesn't mind people being guarded or cold and also i just miss playing against you + kirigiri.

yu is not in college yet but will be attending in the fall. he's not as truth or investigation driven due to AU things and canon not-true-end things, but he's already been snooping around recolle trying to figure out what's going on, so maybe we can have detective shenanigans in our future??

also in his AU he plays piano and is actually a songwriter so. music??

idk i just need a reason to play with your kyoko again please

and yes!! maybe they can get to know each other through music at school or something? and when she start suspecting weird things are happening they can team up and investigate!!

hello! i have a girl who also has no parents and is studying to be a police officer or detective as well. they seem similar enough so maybe they could be classmates and know each other that way? (she has cute cat-print bags and stuff so hey a weakness for cute things can be a good way to get started.)

maybe they could have worked on projects together for classes? cleo would get really interested in cold cases, so they might have tried to solve those.

ok i love kyouko so here are some thoughts! let me know if any of these sound workable :]b

- if kyouko ever traveled to italy, she might have met mista there! he was a pretty unremarkable kid in naples but also definitely the type of person to insist on taking a cute girl on a tour of important churches and also, restaurants. restaurants are so important.
- if that doesn't work, they could also have met when mista picked the wrong guy's pocket and kyouko had to catch him and be like bro don't do that again....... come on this was a boring case, why. OR SOME OTHER WAY, idk
- mista is easily bulliable and would carry her shopping bags for her. in fact let him do this. he would live for this.
- he might also have told her about the time he killed a guy for attacking someone and that that's the reason he was sent to the states! depending how close they are ofc.
- he'd also be interested in her piano playing despite not really knowing why because Reasons.

i'm torn between both options for how they meet, maybe we can do a combination? he could give her a tour, and later on she figures out he picked some guy's pocket? i'm up for whatever, honestly!

lfsmakdfl i love the idea of a combo because it means that they met for like 5 seconds in italy and then when kyouko moves to recolle she's like ho hum, another pickpocketing case-- wait a fucking second what are you doing here. which is hilarious to me.

but yes ok this sounds like a plan. he would probably be interested in her work too in kind of an abstract way, like "i am not smart enough to do this but i'm fascinated by my Real Noir Detective Friend"

so kyouko and ruiji are actually the same age, so maybe they could have been classmates at some point? he's a drop out, though, but i haven't decided yet for how long he's been out of school

ruiji also has a hidden weakness for cute things that he tries very hard to ignore....
