AU NAME: Albert Wesker
AU AGE: 38
AU OCCUPATION: Works in pharmaceuticals, specifically research and development.
BLURB:

Experienced some past trauma as a kid that he never talks about and doesn't really remember all that well even if he wanted to
Spent some time in an orphanage until he was about ten or so as a result
Was eventually adopted into a rich family that encouraged his interests but was pretty emotionally hands-off
As such he's kind of distant and standoffish and...doesn't seem to know how to do a lot with his face, he's got a whole three expressions in his arsenal look at him go
He's pretty content with his work but he's got a tendency to...bring it home with him in various ways because he's got entirely too much money and free time on his hands. He isn't particularly concerned with ethics, let's put it that way
...Probably because he doesn't have much of a conscience; his sense of empathy is either seriously damaged or nonexistent, it's hard to tell
That said, while he doesn't particularly like people a whole lot, he is no longer a misanthrope supreme that wants to end the world; he's really socially awkward but that's about the extent of it until memories start coming back. He's not a particularly good person but he pays his taxes, etc
Due to being a socially awkward mess but generally functional person overall, he...is not going to handle memory regains particularly well. Um
Still totally the sort of jerk that wears sunglasses indoors, though

LOOKING FOR: Colleagues, "friends" is a little generous given that he doesn't befriend people easily but acquaintances that can be considered fairly close are good, people who are particularly here for science and research, literally anything is fine by me. Positive and negative CR are equally welcome, seeing as I love both; awkward as hell CR that's hitting at right angles to everything else is also very much loved.

I feel like these two could be fun seeing as Tony is both the most ethics...obsessed...Avenger as well as the most questionably ethical Avenger. Don't questions his hypocricies laughs. But would def make for something as they both remember horrible things eyyy.

Anyway! He and Wesker have an eight year difference between them and Tony is (currently) an hot shot author. But could be idk when Wesker went to fancy schmancy rich people school there was a buddy assignation program for new kids to help them acclimate and Tony just happened to be said buddy. Has kept in touch over the years because raisins. Sees Wesker as that awkward distant little brother figure or something lbr like Tony would ever know how to have a sibling figure "messed up fail not super close relationship" works for this laughs.

Or less Tony up in Wesker's personal space could be they met at a convention center during some science convention and Tony rings Wesker up periodically for drinks and to fact check things in his novels. Gotta make sure he uses the right drug overdoses in his murder mysteries, etc, etc.

Either work? Okay if not, Tony def...Tony laughs.

...Okay, so this is the CR I never knew I needed and seriously do not ever question whether I want somebody in Wesker's face, friend, because damn does he need people all up in his face.

But yes! I am totally here for that first scenario, actually, that would be wonderful and definitely would lead to interesting places as things go on. And I am generally all for that sort of "oh god like either of us actually know what we're doing but we sure are doing a lot of it" type of interaction, so I say we go for it tbh

And this is how two awkward men formed an awkward....family....thing. No, but this sounds great laughs. Tony forever unable to put into words why he's still around, but he's here!! Trying!! Asking Wesker if he's been making friends....or gone on dates....or hey he hears the library has a reading to the elderly program, that might be fun.

Apologies im advance laughs. I will keep an eye out for you on the tdm though!

I can offer this lady here as a possible close acquaintance!.She can help with research since she's a big bookworm and loves to read anything so if you need someone to go through pages of pages of something she's your girl. Especially since she doesn't want to disappoint anyone and will carry through her promise 110%.

Ainsley is a year older than him so they would have known each other growing up? She would have done her best to be his friend as kids but happily settled as someone who knew him well when they got older. Would have made it a point to search him out and speak with him, talk to him, ask how he was, and etc. Really too trusting of people she's known all her life since she can't imagine anything bad happening in their home city so there's that future angle.

Ohhh, this sounds fun on all counts and I'm absolutely here for childhood friendship-type things; he's not a terribly open person overall, but at the same time being decent to him from a fairly young age would definitely go a long way toward him being willing to talk to her and generally spend time outside of that which is strictly necessary (...I am so sorry about him already).

...Basically despite the usual weirdness he's going to be entirely more willing to go out of his way for her than he would be most people, and he'll be decent to the best of his ability even when things kind of start sliding sideways due to regains and the like. It's also more likely that he'd actually. Discuss things with her instead of giving cordial but avoidant bullshit, just because she would have known him long enough to warrant it. The too-trusting angle is something that might prove interesting to play with as well; I like this, basically, this was a lot of words to say "I like this."

Oh my gosh this all sounds amazing.

She would have done her best to not been a bother to him when they were younger and done her best to learn all about his interest to keep up with him in conversations while they were growing up. She tried then and she keeps trying to this day.

When regains come and things start hitting the fan, I can definitely see her trying her best to reach out to him and discuss things with him since she trusts his intellect and approach to things since she can be very emotional, heart-on-sleeves at times. She's already experiencing some really weird things/powers right now so he could know about those too if you want! Again, she trusts him a lot and no doubt would have either A) informed him what was going on despite no doubt looking weird while doing so B) demonstrated her current strange ability of causing sparks/glitters to surround her. If you want to go down that route of course.

I like this so much already. I can't wait to see how this plays out in game!

I would not mind going that route if you'd like that! He would have preferred a proper demonstration along with the explanation (so it wasn't met with just some sort of...deadpan staring and "...uh") but he would also not be interested in mentioning it to anyone should she want it kept quiet; it's not something that's anyone's business, it's theirs and anyone else she should want involved in that. Her prerogative and all that; AU-wise he's decidedly less willing to stab people that trust him in the back, at least as far as those he's known for a long time that have done nothing to warrant it.

...There's a lot of trying going on here that there normally wouldn't be if she was anyone else, basically, but there actually is trying and if you'd like to go that way we very much can do that. o/

Shady science researchers doing shady things? Alex also doesn't do people too well either, but he's more in your face about it. What is empathy etc.

Hell yes, shady science researchers doing shady things.

And I mean, just because he isn't at a point where he'd openly broadcast it doesn't mean that he won't agree with a lot of questionable things due to and regarding the zero-empathy front. Sometimes you just need people you can have no compassion around and that is totally okay, man, it happens.

I look forward to this then :). Alex can maybe be the push he needs to be a little more bold.

If you were to want CR, I am more than willing and okay with working that out - I'd imagine it's the sort of thing that's, uh, probably slightly inevitable eventually, just due to the nature of the thing. So if you want something pre-existing, that's fine and I'll gladly work with you on it; if you want to just see what happens, that is also entirely cool with me, I'm flexible in that regard and down with either.

So here's a completely tonally dissonant character that I think would work interestingly with Wesker - Reigen here is a homeopathic professional in the area and he does this in order to convince people that they need conventional/proper medical treatments. So considering they're both in the general field of "medicine", there's a couple possibilities - either they dislike each other because they're both quite shady businessmen, or they're working in tandem somehow (particularly if Wesker is the sort to get reeled in by Reigen's scheme, since Reigen is actually quite a bombastic and charismatic sort of guy)

I actually really do like this, though I think it's got more of a tendency to skew negative than positive - I love negative CR, however, so that is most definitely not a bad thing! He's not really the sort to be taken in by bullshit and charisma, so some sort of dislike/sense of rivalry even would make sense.

...Honestly I am also so here for the amount of tonal dissonance, yes, good lord.

NEGATIVE CR IT IS THEN I love it. Reigen throwing absolutely unnecessary and uncalled for shade and Wesker going is a homeopathic """""doctor""""" seriously throwing shade at me fuck this guy

So I don't quite know how to get these two to have CR, besides the fact that having an aggressively careless and carefree Robin Hood type interact with Wesker is absolutely hilarious to me.

Since I've decided Zaveid has probably switched up jobs at least three times a year, he could probably have been the delivery guy for a very brief period of time who is obnoxious and way too jovial, but who managed to ask intelligent questions for the brief period of time he was around.

I have no idea if that would work or not, I've just decided it's my goal for him to know multiple shady people while being oblivious about anything potentially nefarious.

Seeing as this strikes me as far more entertaining than it really has any right to, I am absolutely down for this happening because tonal dissonance is my friend and you know how much I like awkward.

It works well enough for me, though, yes. Definitely. o/
