because baren might have a lot of the same flavor. but baren would call him out absolutely. baren's style of manipulating the world around him is through being an asshat only when he thinks it's funny but otherwise being charming to get what you want. but baren would 100% enable him.....
he thinks that honest people are asking to get taken advantage of. that includes people who are too honest with their emotions. so i guess baren is teaching repression???? it might be better in practice but that's up in the air
