Aqua is aiming to be a nursing student at Recolle U which means a hell of a lot of pressure, plus she's got sports obligations to meet. She might need help with that...

Plus she hasn't had a mother figure since she was like 9? So she'd probably appreciate that kind of support too.

I would totally love for them to know each other at school!! And honestly I went and snooped and looked at your own workshop post and basically I love your AU and it kind of mirrors Terra's own, wherein they both had not so great relationships with their Dads but dealt with it in kind of opposite ways. Aqua is probably the good influence that this Terra needs to stay on the straight and narrow path.

I also think it would be cute if they incidentally met once when they were kids?? Terra grew up in Recolle but maybe they had a chance meeting when Terra came along on a business trip of his dad's?? Food for thought??

Yes!!! That would actually be awesome if we could have a sort of 'Nort family. Totally cool with him being an older cousin. Maybe they've met a couple times at family gatherings? And people would be like "heh you two look like brothers" and they would be like "no stop we're nothing alike"

Ahaha, I think it's great that the only set of Keykids that have a parental figure will have crappy relationships with them. It's perfect.

OH GOSH YES. I can't YES enough to that idea. They would probably hit it off and swap emails/IMs until they meet up again in college? She could be his weird online confidant when he goes through his bad boy phase:)

AU AGE: 26 (this might be his canon age but w/e)
AU OCCUPATION: Police officer (specifically Detective)
BLURB: After a solid six months spent abroad in a subtropical location, Lea has returned to Recolle from an undercover sting of an international money laundering ring that went perfectly according to plan… or at least, that's what it says on the books. Rumor has it that things got a little wild down there, including a few weeks where the force lost contact with him entirely, but the point is he's back and in one piece and ready to resume work as a detective in the field! He even brought souvenirs for his friends!

Except returning to Recolle feels less like a homecoming than it should and a little more like… something weird is going on….
LOOKING FOR: more police CR, possible CR around town, canonmate CR of some kind? hmu!! the mystery operation in the tropics is mostly there for vague future plot hooks/future-canonmates-apping-in hooks, so im gonna be pretty vague about it unless someone wants in

Yessss, that's even better! So they're really close despite not actually being able to hang out in person until very recently. Maybe they talked about their parental stuff together? Terra couldn't really open up to anyone IRL but because their friendship grew online she's the only one who actually knows all this stuff about him? Basc. I love it.

Soooo there is a bit of an age and occupational gap between these too, but Aqua also works at a bar that I'm sure some police officers frequent so that could be where they meet?

Lea wouldn't have hit on her or anything but I imagine she's seen a lot of Shenanigans from him when the department goes out drinking (notable event: Lea three sheets to the wind slurring Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me" on the karaoke), plus he probably also goes there to nurse a pint when he's working through a tough case.

(He tips well because he's a lightweight and can't house more than three drinks before getting into the Danger Zone so I'm sure she'd appreciate that, yes?)

She'd very much appreciate it being a student who's trying to make it on her own and him not creeping on her.

...Plus he'd be good entertainment. Enough for her to maybe record a few karaoke renditions but not put it up on Youtube. It'll just be something to potentially tease him about fufufufu~

I absolutely rubberstamp at least one of Lea's drunk bad karaoke making it to Youtube, unless Aqua is just too good of a soul to put it there. (Then again, someone else could have, lol).

How long has she been tending bar? If it's less than six months, Lea wouldn't know her; otoh if it's longer than a year, they might talk enough for her to consider her a casual friend rather than an acquaintance.

Hmmm, well this place would suck most of the Disney out of her, but she still is a good girl. So I would either think she would ask his permission first or... "oh crap, Lea! I misclicked!" and accidental upload.

I would say it's at least a year if not two? She's a busy bee with school obligations and sports but she'd obviously pick more shifts up during the summer and is a steady worker there.

Like I said, your character, your call. It would be funny if she uploaded it by total accident and then Lea never asked her to take it down because all the hits fluffed his ego unexpectedly.

Okay, that's enough time for me to say Lea's been in there on a fairly regular basis (at least once or twice a week?) and may even have helped break up a fight or two before they developed by virtue of being a cop.

AU NAME: Kagetsuna Katakura (his parents thought it would be cool. Also I'm lazy, that's his historical birth name.)
AU AGE: 30
AU OCCUPATION: He's a bouncer for a high-end club in the evening on weekends, but works at a garden store in the daytime on weekdays.
BLURB:
-Despite appearances, not a yakuza or a thug. He does joke he owes money to them if it's brought up…
-Okay more seriously. He does have debts to pay off that he inherited from his parents after their deaths, so he's no-nonsense and a workaholic.
-Parents owned a business, borrowed money from less-stellar folks outside of Recolle to keep it afloat. They died in an unrelated accident when Kagetsuna was a teenager.
-He used to work as a bodyguard for a wealthy family in Recolle who took him in after his parents passed away, and they even paid for his schooling and helped him shape up. (He isn't exactly using his degree, so it would take prodding to find out what it was.)
-They were a good, but kindareally shady family? Look, he'd question it but they were longtime friends of his family, they took him in after life was crap to him, and he wanted to believe they were good, so it's a conflicted loyalty.
-Things came up for that family late though and they disappeared/"moved away"; now he's on his own now with the debt that the family kept away for years thanks to their influence. It's not impossible to handle, just there.
-Does not like cops. He's mostly clean and only had one bad run-in with them back during dumb teenage years, but he's just wary because yeah, thanks adopted yakuza family.
-The night job is actually the one he likes because it's kind of exciting and fun in a guilty pleasure gossip insider sort of way.
-The above job experience does mean he knows how to fight off a person and took training for taking them down without severe injury (and lawsuits), but he generally won't use it unless it's on the job.
-Day job is for the in-store discounts and extra money on the side, retail is still terrible. He's willing to suffer though for his children.
-Green leafy children. His garden and plants are his babies and it's a hobby he cares a ton about.
-AU personality differences: not many, he just doesn't have that insane loyalty he has toward a single person. Still has low bullshit tolerance, surprisingly smart about people despite his attitude, and practical without tossing all his morals into the void. A really grounded person with a good heart somewhere in there.

LOOKING FOR: Anything if you have ideas! I'm probably not apping him right now.
OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Nah...

Mariko here does cybersecurity consulting for the police and likely offers her talents on the side, so maybe they have a standing deal where she helps keep his sis and daughter's web-stuff secure and he helps her with her apartment?

She might also flirt with him terribly, the doting single dad is a good look whoops
