oh man that would be great, actually! i haven't worked it out fully yet, but i'm leaning towards bisha trying to move away from that part of her life, so having someone she still keeps in regular contact with from her past would definitely be really interesting to play out! either way she is definitely trying to make her own name for herself, and not want to user her family's influence out of fear it would just ~taint the process~ so to speak... but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, right. 8')

also it'd be very interesting since they're both trying to disassociate from their families, but seem to be going about it in very different ways, since she's trying to cut herself off entirely (almost entirely... she loves expensive spas and bath soaps too much sobs) while he seems to still integrate himself into that lifestyle?

He totally respects the desire to make her own way, on her own terms, and wouldn't push friendship on her or anything! But he'd want to keep their acquaintanceship alive with, like, I dunno, holiday cards, or a nice photo for her birthday, things like that.

He's not exactly trying to distance himself from his family--they all kind of drift away from one another anyway, letting their art and travels take them where they will--but yeah, professionally, he doesn't want to rely on their influence. I'd say largely he floats on that current without investing himself in the game, if that makes sense. He's part of the world but not a player, and everything that's important to him is what he does outside of the moneyed world.

and bisha would definitely respect that too! in fact, i'd say it would be more interesting if they did keep a sort of friendship, as that would be very interesting to explore because they do see their roles and positions with regards to that world a bit differently. selfishly i think it would be nice for her to have someone who sort of understands that part of her, without judging her for it.

though i definitely wouldn't mind writing out them starting a tentative friendship, too, now that they're both in the same city, rather than starting with something already established!

Either way! I do admit, it'd be great to start with a friend he can talk to right out of the gate, so I'm leaning that way too.

hmm! what about a compromise? maybe they were very close back when she was still knee-deep in that circle, but then drifted a bit when she went off to the police academy/force, and now they're reuniting? so roughly fourish years?

That sounds great! He could also be useful, then, for showing/having shown her around the city. Photographers tend to see a lot other people might not, after all.
