-That one quiet kid who sits in the back of the class napping and everyone groans when the teacher inevitably begins the painful process of dragging an answer out of him when he clearly wasn't paying attention.
-In the past his family moved from place to place, but as of two years ago they've 'settled' in Recollé, and lacking much in the way of social skills, he's proceeded to keep mostly to himself in his classes.
-Due to his parents being busy with work even now, he effectively lives with his equally sweet maternal grandparents, who are both involved in the arts - I'm thinking a semi-famous potter for his grandfather and writer or painter for his grandmother. However, even if anyone's in those circles, they might not catch him by name because his surname is different from theirs.
-All in all he's actually a pretty sweet and laid-back guy who loves strawberries and is very empathetic and good at reading people?? He just sucks at actually talking to them. He's an anime adaptation of a silent protag what do you want from him.
-Probably knows some pottery/painting alright if I do end up going with those occupations for his grandparents. Either way, his family is Really Important to him.
-May...be learning some martial arts or had some practice with it in the past?? I am still waffling on this. Kid packs a punch when he means it, though.

LOOKING FOR: FRIENDS WHO CAN DRAG QUIET LOSERS INTO FRIENDSHIP, MOSTLY!! I would also be open to extended family (though I'd prefer to keep him as a single child with NPC parents and grandparents). He really can get along with basically anyone who isn't, like, the embodiment of outright malice in terms of evil (because we uh sorta already friendshipped the personification of yin in a past life, that was a thing). The main push he needs is for people to approach him first!

Sorey's a student teacher at the high school! He co-teaches history a few days a week and he takes it very seriously, ending up as a sort of counselor to his kids (who he cares about a lot). It's very possible that Tatsuma is in his class! If you want, anyway.

If not, Sorey also offers his services as a general tutor for children/teenagers in general.

I'd love that! Tatsuma's actually quite intelligent, he's just a huge underachiever when the subject doesn't grab his interest, a-ahahaha... He's probably nice enough, just kind of a headache because getting him to pay attention in class is like trying to herd a cat into a box when it doesn't want to go in right now.

He is very cute please be friends with him. Even if he's her senpai she could easily, easily get away with dragging him into shenanigans or even asking him to teach her what he knows about pottery. god forbid she ever meet his grandfather too, she'd be invited over to the house in a heartbeat and given snacks because no one is safe from this much Grandparentsing.

I can offer up Belph as a classmate!! Belph's not so great at genuine friendship off the bat but he's fairly talkative so he'd be happy to bug Tatsuma and compensate for his quietness. o7

Sounds good to me! The great part about Tatsuma being so quiet is it's very easy to catch him and chatter away at him and he'll totally stand by and listen through it all '-'b

not swapping journals but DAVE STRIDER IS A 17YO HIGH SCHOOL DUDE and could be friendly with tatsuma? he's been here for over 2 years so he would have met him when he moved, and he's laid back and kind of chill too

Sounds good to me! They can be real chill at each other and Dave can chat at Tatsuma with little interruption, seriously, kid is super quiet. Makes good observations when he does talk!! But quiet.
