He's older then her, and probably considered to be a bit of a shallow waste of talent and looks since his main mode at most parties is to flirt shamelessly, date for a couple weeks and then dump the women at his social level. He's got some hidden depths to him (rumors said that his personality did a huge flip after some childhood trauma) and often does stuff like not-purposely-but-yet-purposely draw unsavory attention to himself that gives other people an escape from drama and the like.

It could be possible that they meet in those social obligations that old money attends to show off, and then later has some maybe-snarky comments about it later on on his Facebook feed. Often times is trailed by a long-suffering PA that can't keep him fully out of trouble.
