TEST DRIVE
SEPTEMBER TEST DRIVE - EVENT AND FOURTH WALL EDITION
The city of Recollé...

...or, at least, a good mimicry of the city. It's been a few weeks since you've found yourself in this digitized version of your beloved city. You've found yourself surrounded by NPC versions of your friends and family who aren't a part of the Retrospec project, you've encountered strange and new places, and the viruses continue to appear despite the fight you've put up.

On the evening of the 17th, things change again. No matter where you are, Alphas and Betas will hear the sound of loud clacking, something similar to fingers typing frantically on a keyboard. The dial-up sound rings out, echoing off of buildings and in your ears as a bright blue flash of code scrolls before your eyes.

Perhaps it doesn't make sense, but your handheld device might help. It beeps to alert you of a new message, screen lighting up as a navigation app appears and seems to stick. It appears to be an ordinary app like Google Maps or Waze, but the destination is pre-installed and your feet begin to move on their own accord.

I. - IN-GAME CHARACTERS ONLY
If you're strong enough, you might be able to break free of the mysterious hold that's dragging you across the city and out toward the outskirts of Tisse. It's hard to locate the source of the pull, but everyone will find that as they traverse the city they're all heading in one direction. The navigation app cheerfully blurts out instructions as your body operates on auto-pilot, causing you to stumble through the city and the other districts.

You'll find yourself colliding into another user, soon walking in front or behind them as everyone around you begins to form one solid line. The human chain forms steadily and…aren't you lucky? You get to hold hands! Single file, everyone. Maybe you lucked out and you're holding hands with a friend. If you're stuck between two strangers, well, maybe that's a little awkward but the chain is impossible to break.

You continue to move. Locked hand in hand with every user in the city, you'll have to help each other navigate, avoid obstacles, and make sure you don't lag behind. Viruses linger and will follow this mass of people, snapping at your heels and attempting to devour anything nearby. Can you fight without your hands? It may be time to find out.

The night sky is a bit cloudy and your only source of light is the moon and the glow of lights on buildings you pass by in all districts. The walk shouldn't take you long, but as you venture further away from the center of the city the sun begins to rise and obscures your vision a bit.

Has time sped up? Or are you simply walking further than you thought? What an interesting question.

II-A. - IN-GAME CHARACTERS ONLY
The navigation app leads the group through a long, winding journey that ends just beyond the furthest point of Tisse as the day breaks. As the app chimes, the air before you shimmers as a glass-walled building materializes. Unlike the other buildings in the city, it appears to be solid and smooth, lacking the pixelated quality a majority of the city has by now. The human chain breaks and you let go of your neighbor. You're now free to explore this place.

Stepping inside, you find rows and rows of glass cases and chambers off to the sides and in stacks. Accommodated with work stations and instruction manuals, you may find yourself drawn to these computers before the empty cases. While the manuals appear old and frayed, there are instructions one can follow to create the person of their dreams. Are you looking for someone athletic? Simply change the input for a higher muscle mass than your average model. What about someone funny? Copy and paste some knock-knock jokes to embed in their code. It's easy to create anything you desire. The book allows for anything, even those who aren't exactly human. As you code and build, the glass cases and chambers begin to fog up, smoke whirling around inside as something begins to grow and take shape.

Be careful! You may have a clear vision in mind of what you wish to create, but the programming may have other ideas…

…for those who don't wish to experiment for themselves, or those who are strong enough to shake off those urges, there are several other floors to explore. Unlike the cases downstairs, these ones are occupied and filled with finished models pre-labeled "Projected Example" or "Reboot". Perhaps these faces are familiar to you, or they're someone who looks interesting. A lost friend. Someone from your memories. Someone who you feel doesn't belong encased in glass at all. The possibilities seem endless when it comes to who you'll find inside, but as you continue to stare at the case before you…the glass cracks.

II-B. - TDM/FOURTH WALL CHARACTERS.

Where are you? The last thing you remember was a wavering, dizzy spell that forced your eyes closed as you fell unconscious. Upon awakening the glass walls around you are stifling and thick, white and blue smoke dances around your ankles as you blink away black spots impeding your vision. Trapped inside a glass case held behind glass walls, it becomes clear that you aren't where you're supposed to be. Any items you had on your person are missing and the palm of your hand burns intensely for ten seconds as a black tattoo forms.

Branded as either a "Projected Example" or "Reboot", it isn't easy to understand what these terms mean. Perhaps that isn't what's important though. Rather, what's important is breaking your way out of this glass case and figuring out where you are.

Shadowed figures can be seen walking the hallways just outside your case, sometimes alone or sometimes with a friend. It's hard to make out any of their features, but you can hear the muffled words being said. It's only when someone is close to your case that you find your strength. The glass begins to spider crack under the pressure of your hand, allowing you to push and punch as much as necessary to break free.

There's no shame in needing assistance, of course. Some cases are thicker than others, and as the glass begins to crack it becomes easier to be heard by those outside of your case. How will you escape? Who will you find on the other side of the glass? It's a mystery and one that will not be answered until you free yourself of your enclosure.

Breaking free is easy if you try and it gives you a full range of motion. The glass won't harm you, but sparkles adorn your skin as the sunlight shines through the windows around you. You're free to explore the floors of the building and check out the other glass cases nearby. Perhaps you'll even lend a hand and help others who are trapped.

How did you all get here? That's yet another mystery that doesn't seem to have an answer, but more importantly…how do you get out of the building? This place is huge.

III. - OTA

Lucky for you, this building seems to be a safe haven from the crazy world outside. Though several stories tall and filled with cases and equipment as far as the eye can see, nothing strange seems to be happening and navigating the building is almost a pleasant experience. The glass walls allow for plenty of late-summer sunshine to filter in, giving you and everyone you're with a path to follow.

This path, however, won't lead you to the front door. The front exit no longer exists and any attempts to reroute to it will send citizens on their way through the halls of the building again. Several doors and laboratories are found on the journey though you may not enter. Labeled areas such as "memory restoration", "accounting", "legal" and "resources", these areas are scattered and just beyond your reach.

As you venture through the building and exit out the back door, the sound of music hits you full-force. Bright lights, thick grass and the sounds of children laughing await you. The grounds are vast and empty of other people. While the area is large and sprawling, it's evident that several iconic pieces of this area are missing.

A large sign hangs overhead, greeting you and welcoming you to Rainbowland. Complete with a carousel, children's rides such as spinning tea cups, bumper cars, the hurricane and the octopus, and a midway full of games, this amusement park looks like the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

Along with the usual set-up, Rainbowland is host to a special event for the next week. Scattered throughout the grounds are banners and stalls proudly proclaiming "WELCOME TO RETROSPEC." Carnival food of all kinds can be found at these stalls with the Retrospec logo plastered on the side. Eat these foods at your own risk! Sweets will grant consumers super-speed, meats such as hot dogs and burgers kick in a boost of super-strength, fried foods will cause a consumer to move in slow motion and drinks may cause temporary invisibility. Weird, right?

The midway has a few strange surprises as well. While most games are easy to play (and free at that, why isn't anyone around to take tickets from park visitors?), there are certain games set up by Retrospec themselves that have equally strange prizes. Stuffed animals of a variety of creatures from other worlds line the shelves (some you may or may not recognize), along with glass dolls of you and people you know. The likeness of these prizes is a little too spot-on; dolls will spout a common catch-phrase and stuffed animals will feel as though they are breathing.

Finally, in addition to the Rainbowland rides, Retrospec has provided a wooden roller coaster and a large ferris wheel, both branded with their logo. For those who wish to feel the rush, the roller coaster reaches speeds of up to 60 miles per hour and comes with several hills and one full upside-down loop. Riders, however, will experience brief hallucinations after this loop; as the loop completes they'll find themselves seeing visions of a dark, underground river. The hallucination seems within reach almost as if the cart they're in will dive straight into the water. The ride ends with all riders unharmed, however.

As for the ferris wheel? It's just a ferris wheel, several stories high with bright blue, encased cars to give riders a bird's eye view of the entire city and protect them inside. As you reach the top, the car will come to a gentle stop and the view from the window will change. Instead of the beloved city of Recollé, the landscape below is different. Perhaps it's a landscape you recognize, or it's an area of a battle-ridden world. Perhaps you see your friend's high school that they've seen in their memories or islands from another life. Every view is different, but by the time you reach the ground again you're back in Recollé.

It's a carnival and it's fun, but several things that don't belong to Rainbowland seem off. Those with a keen eye and who have been around for a while may come to realize one important factor; the symbol is drawn inaccurately. The Retrospec symbol is missing a few loops and the particular shade of blue used is too dark to match.

A counterfeit Retrospec...is it possible?

Maybe it's best just to stick with what Rainbowland itself has to offer.

IV. - OTA
So maybe carnivals aren't your thing. No matter! You can leave Rainbowland whenever you'd like and make your way back to the city.

On the other hand the city and areas around it may not be as you remember it. "Projected Examples" might not recognize this place at all, but "Reboot" will recognize that the pixelation of buildings, the NPC status of people they may know and the glitches that occur aren't normal by any standards. Exploring the city will allow all visitors to ride the trains and visit the various locations Alphas and Betas have access to, create and travel through the digital scape of half-constructed concepts, and they'll find they're even more susceptible to being attacked by bug-like viruses. These viruses will follow newcomers, snapping and biting to try and devour them. Defeating one will generate two more, and while they aren't as prominent in the digital scape you may find yourself with your hands full.

There is no way to reach the outside regions of Pesgare, Respatrum, Bosuma and Magatus at this time, but there's plenty in the city to keep you on your toes. Visitors may have to find lodging for the next few weeks whether that's with friends or strangers, but at least all of the buildings remain standing.

And if that doesn't keep you busy enough, the NPC citizens of Recollé are happy to provide you with jobs. If you choose to speak to any of these people, they'll go off of their pre-assigned dialogue and provide you with a small quest.

"Find ten bananas and deliver them to someone with red hair."
"Pet every dog that you see."
"Catch three fish from the ocean and sell them to a neighbor."

Some of these quests may not even make sense, but they'll be assigned nevertheless. Upon completion of each quest taken on, a triumphant sound will play from overhead and a banner will appear displaying your new title. Deliver those bananas? "Gone Bananas" will flash over your head. How about those fish? "So Long and Thanks For..." will linger for a while.

Too bad no one told you those banners won't go away. When you're alone the title will be hidden, but as you speak to more people in the city the banner reappears, hovering over your head for the entire length of the conversation. The titles will change as you complete new tasks, but it appears as though they're permanent now. Congratulations!

BONUS. - OTA
Everyone will be equip with a handheld device much like a cell phone but downgraded. Containing only a drawing application, the game of Snake, the Retrospec app and the navigation app to lead you back to that glass building, it's...pretty useless. Technology in the city is hit and miss in its pixelated state, but perhaps it's better to ask the Retrospec network what the next step is.

While Alphas and Betas are still posting as their A/B IDs, "Projected Examples" and "Reboots" will find that all posts and comments are tagged as their status and their name. Examples and Reboots will also find that a "Welcome to Retrospec" guide pops up, giving them only a brief moment to read the guidelines before a bright flash appears, snapping their photo for their profile and connecting them to someone new on the network.

Whether you're sending or receiving messages, a string of colored text, numbers and code will leave or enter your device. These devices also need to be charged constantly, so be careful when taking them out of the house! You'd hate to get cut off at the worst possible moment, wouldn't you?

Welcome to the [community profile] recolle test drive meme, fourth wall event, and September event part two! Please review these instructions for this particular event! As we are combining a few different options here, we want to ensure players know what options are available. Thank you!

All characters who are TDMing will be begin in-game AU'd as Recollé residents. You may use any of the above prompts for ideas or make up your own depicting your Recollé AU! Prompts do not have to be set in the districts listed above. You can review our list of locations for what's available. Please note that TDM threads can be used as samples, can be kept as game canon, and can also be used for bonus points for future item regains. Share a few minor details of your AU, tag around, and have fun!

Since this is a special event, the TDM is tied with a fourth wall event as well! For players who are fourth-walling characters (canon versions, different canon AUs, CRAU, versions from other games, etc), please label your top-level as "Projected Example." Players who are TDMing to app will fall under "Reboot" and we ask that you label your top-level as such! And finally, characters in-game are not required to label their top-levels with anything. This way, it's easier for your gamemates to know who's TDMing, who's just playing around, and who's already in-game.

For Prompt III, any characters who choose to ride the ferris wheel will be able to see the landscape of any canonical world once they're at the top. It doesn't matter if they would recognize it or not, but the image will be brief until the car moves again! Likewise, stuffed animals won from the Retrospec midway games can be creatures your character would recognize from their memories or from other canons they may or may not recognize. Use your best judgment!

Prompt IV may be used to create new scenarios and threads based on the prompts from Part One of September's Event! Please feel free to read the prompts in event log one and create your own scenarios for your top-levels. Additionally, you are free to make up your own silly/serious fetch-quests and titles that would be rewarded to your characters.

While normally we do not allow this, please remember that current players may earn one freebie by threading with someone who is TDMing! This thread must contain 5 consecutive comments from you to be eligible. In addition, all players may use any threads accrued in this event for bonus points.

As a special note, we will also allow current players to use a thread from this Fourth Wall/TDM/Event for their AC proofs! As this ties into a game-event, we are making an exception. However, your other proof(s) (at least ten comments) must come from sources outside of this log. Likewise, as this is an event log instead of just a standard TDM, you may use this log to trigger regains as normal.

Please note: you will need a reserve to apply, and current characters must have full AC posted at the time of their reservation.

Your September TDM directory is here, and your AU workshop is here! Our mod questions thread for this TDM is over here!

[ Byakuren has to squint a little, but once he speaks up, the voice confirms her suspicions. A familiar face is nice to see right now. ]

...Theodore? Is that you?

[ Whether or not he is the type who doesn't like to be called by his full name, she probably does anyway, rip. ]

[Yeah, it had obviously been a while, for him to react like this. Sakura blinks at the hug, giving an initial soft gasp of surprise before she returns it. Before she raises her arms to hold around his waist too. And there was something so nostalgic about this. Something sweet, amid the obvious guilt and worry for her having apparently been gone? for so long.

Still, she accepts the embrace, relenting and resting her chin at his shoulder as she relaxes into his hold.]

It's alright. I'm okay.

[ Well that sort of answers Al's questions about some things but only causes him to have more. Like why Ed doesn't remember getting his body back and why the other has his automail still. He can't quite grasp the idea that they might be from different points in time.

Al keeps his grip on his brother's arm as if proving that he is real, that he has his body back. Though there's not just a verbal frown in his voice but also on his face, it's mixed with concern. Did Ed miss that look? ]

You don't remember? Not about me getting your arm back or you getting my body?

[ For the moment Al will just... let that sink in before he tells him what they exchanged in order to accomplish that. They both know that the price would be high and they've already turned down so many other opportunities because neither were willing to pay it. ]
keystaff: (Got to think positive)

[personal profile] keystaff 2018-09-19 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
You got me out though.

[Though that was. Probably because this was Touya. The city's most over-protective brother. Or a close contender for the title anyway. Still, Sakura bites her lip, giving a nod of agreement even if she doesn't really want to just leave everyone like this.]

As long as we get out to figure a way to help them somehow.
keystaff: (A dream is)

[personal profile] keystaff 2018-09-19 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hm? Ah! I didn't mean you had to -- ?!

[Sakura blinks, flailing a little at the offer. Though it was obvious she was eyeing one of the soft toys. But that...okay, that is a rather impressive pile of them. So she probably isn't lying about being good at this particular game at least.]

[ OKAY NOW SHE'S WORRIED. That is not the voice she wanted to hear in this weird place. Leave her child alone holy shit?? ]

Goodness...! [ frown deepening. She can't see any seams or latches from the outside of the case, so she's not looking forward to sending a rain of glass over Kyouko in the instance that her own case might have been a fluke. ]

Turn your head to the side, Kyouko, there's no way out but to break the glass.

[ she starts wrapping the sleeve of her jacket around her fist just in case ]

[personal profile] chrysology 2018-09-19 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
No? I'm pretty sure I'd remember something like that! How would I just forget what I -- what we were working towards all these years in getting you back?

[Ed is still probably staring. His gaze glancing down at the warm, soft touch at his elbow. Al was right here. In his original body. How many times had Ed dreamed of this? How much had he bled and gone without sleep in his determination to research to find some way to do this? To get his brother back? Now he's faced with it, if Al wasn't reaching, wasn't right there touching him, he might not have even believed it. And yet.

Well, it's definitely him. Ed knows that look. Had missed it all, but especially Al's smile. The mention of Ed getting his arm back seems to fly right over his head when faced with this.]

But you're -- we did it....

[His voice cracks. Probably because amid the disbelieving grin, there's tears threatening at his eyes. Everything, it was all worth it, to see Al again.]

[personal profile] keystaff 2018-09-19 08:39 am (UTC)(link)

[Once she gets herself free somehow, and is wandering, glancing at the other glass cages.]

Hm? Oh! I can try....stand back though.

[Sakura shifts, turning at the sound of his voice and approaching his case. She bites her lip, pressing one hand to it and pressing, before eventually making a fist, a practiced one from her time training in self-defense. She pulls it back and then smacks it into the glass, causing it to shatter after a couple of tries.]

It would have been hard for you to miss considering we were in the middle of stopping the Promised Day when it happened. You did it, brother.

[ At this point, Al's kind of gotten used to the staring - not just from Ed but from everyone who knew him. Most hadn't ever seen him with his real body so they had to get their fill. Honestly, the whole thing had been kind of nerve-wracking what with Ed trying to go toe-to-toe with Father and Al's armor so badly damaged that even the blood seal was in danger of being destroyed. Had Al not believed in his brother, it would have been downright frightening.

Al knows that his brother is kind of an idiot and not that great at certain things. So he does what Ed likely wants to but won't get around to doing because he's too busy sharing. Al leans in to wrap his arms around his big brother in a hug - as tight as he can get it. ]

You did it. I knew you could.

[ Not a hint of doubt in his voice as he holds Ed close. When the older Elric brother does eventually return the hug, it'll be obvious that Al still has a ways to go to put some weight back on but he isn't nothing but the skin and bones that waited at the Gate. ]
dejerate: (The same)

[personal profile] dejerate 2018-09-19 08:59 am (UTC)(link)
Hm? I just.....er...that is. The guys at Retrospec mentioned something about our souls? Helping us get them back and getting back who we were or something?

[Which is probably just going to scare her more? Worry her? Make her more confused and frustrated? But it isn't like Yuu is an expert at this soul stuff or whatever either. He is no philosopher in studying what makes someone....them. He shifts, turning to her nervously. Unsure how she might react.]

Honestly, I probably don't know any more on this than you do, really. The whole.....glass cases with people in them thing, I mean.

[Whatever the Promised Day had, whatever the price, all of it had to work out, if he got Al back. Finally, after all these years. There's a surge or relief and exhaustion all at once in realizing he does eventually truly keep his promise to Al.

Still, there were a couple of reasons he hasn't just immediately launched himself at Al. Firstly being that he is still obviously processing this development but also he vividly recalls how scrawny that body was at the Gate. Especially with the auto-mail, part of him might be scared to hurt Al like this.

Not that this evidently stops Al. Ed blinks, a soft gasp emitting from him. How long had it really been? Hugs or attempts at it with the armor, they couldn't really count. Not compared to this.]

Al.....
bodynsoul: (14)

[personal profile] bodynsoul 2018-09-19 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
[ For the moment, Al will put off how he scared his brother to death by essentially undoing the exchange Ed had done years ago to put his soul into the armor in the first place. No need to bring that up when the older teen is so happy and relieved to know it's finally over.

It's okay, the younger brother has got this hugging thing covered for the both of them. Even with having an arm made of metal, Ed knows how to be careful and gentle if needed. Though it's clear Al is not as fragile as he had been weeks ago - barely able to move on his own and needing a shoulder to lean on in order to walk.

Where he had once been unforgiven metal, Al is now soft and only somewhat boney. No matter how many times he's been hugged or touched something - it never seems to get old. ]

Soon we'll be able to make the trip home to show Granny and Winry. [ ... Just as soon as they figure out where they are now but that really isn't all that important yet. ]
chrysology: (For a place)

[personal profile] chrysology 2018-09-19 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Ed's gentle, when he does finally return the hug. When his arms wrap around Al's waist. He feels more sturdy than Ed figured. Probably this was a little after the Promised Day for Al then. When he'd had some time to recover. After all these years, Ed's had practice enough in being cautious with his auto-mail. So he's careful with Al now.

It's the mention of home, of Granny and Winry, that have him seeming to come back to his senses in regards to this place. Where they were.]

Granny and Winry. I wonder if anyone else is here....where 'here' is.

[Ed shifts slightly at that, glancing around at the other glass cases surrounding them. There were a lot, even just from what he can tell from here as he glances over Al's shoulder a bit.]
bodynsoul: (09)

[personal profile] bodynsoul 2018-09-19 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
[ Like his brother, Al worked hard to shorten the length of his recovery time. Ate whatever the doctors told him to and strengthened his muscles in order to be able to go home. He trusts his brother to be gentle enough to not crush him too much.

They should really get back to the problem at hand because from what he's seen out the window, they aren't in Central anymore. ]

So far I've only seen you here in this room, though it looks like other people have already escaped their cases and left.

[ If anyone they know is outside this building, he can't help name them. Also, if someone is going to end this hug then it'll have to be Ed because the novelty of being able to feel it hasn't yet worn off for Al. ]
chrysology: (For a place)

[personal profile] chrysology 2018-09-19 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Ed pulls back slightly then. If not for the strange situation, he might well have spent hours hugging Al, so relieved to have his brother back. He wouldn't be surprised in the least if Al told him they had spent hours together back home in the initial aftermath.

But this wasn't home. And that was what was confusing him. Concerning him. Especially with Al being involved, with him finally having his body back and probably still adjusting.]

You think they might have left? Maybe.....

[It was possible. Maybe if there was anyone else they knew around, the others had gone to see where they were, what was going on. Ed pulls back, still with one hand at Al's shoulder.]

Guess we should at least take a look around?
apatheia: (thanks for nothing adam)

[2B immediately puts her hands up, walking past the glass slowly and carefully. Naturally, she thinks she's the last person who could ever be an enemy to a human, and this girl clearly is, but—

When she gets a better look at her, she's even more confused. She was positive that voice belonged to Nike, and this isn't her. Probably? Her hair is a different color, and she looks a bit older than her friend. The bone structure of her face is completely identical though, and it's not like 2B would forget someone's voice, let alone a friend's.

And she clearly doesn't recognize her, so. Maybe she has to chalk it up to some crazy coincidence.]

I apologize for startling you, but I don't mean you any harm.

[If it's strange for Anna, it's downright baffling for 2B. She'd think she was looking at A2, although she doesn't recognize the clothes, but she can tell this girl is definitely human. Or most of her, anyways. Which means that this isn't A2, and she doesn't know her, but apparently she knows her.

It's slight, but her lips pull down just a fraction into a frown. She really doesn't understand what's going on in this place.]

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. [Her holo-chair seemingly disappears into light, as does her fishing rod in a burst of sparks. Somehow, she gets the feeling that she should pay her full attention to this.]

[If it was possible to hold her any tighter without accidentally hurting her or making her uncomfortable, he would do just that, but he was clinging to her so closely that it didn't seem likely. It almost felt like a dream, being able to feel her soft warmth in his arms, catching a whiff of her sweet scent, being enveloped in her own hold as his heartbeat matches hers. Something inside him threatens to break, to let out the sheer and utter relief of seeing her again, but... no. Even if she had seen him cry before, he didn't want to upset her, especially not now. Things were already hectic and worrisome without all of that]

... I'm glad.

[His voice comes out husky and a bit strained, holding his emotions in check, and his cheek brushes gently against the head at his shoulder. There was no need to say how worried he was, or how he thought he might have lost her forever. Right now, it was just focusing on how she was here, right now, and that's all that mattered.]

I'm... really glad...

[ ooc; Dirk Strider, 16, thrill-seeker, "cool" bro, and mouthy dork. Kind of a huge fuck up. Missing his iconic rad shades (for the moment, just you wait). Catch his AU Workshop info here!]

II-B: Sick tat, bro.

[ He's chill. Cool as fuck. Sure, he's been drugged, kidnapped, caged up, and mysteriously and painfully gained some less-than-rad ink on his left palm. Yeah, his mom's probably going to murder him for it, straight up dump his body twenty miles outside the city. And if anybody asks where that troublesome younger boy of hers went? She'll roll out a doll that bears a striking likeness to him and tell people just how well behaved he's become since 'that day.' It's alright, he's got a survival plan: just gotta wear gloves 24/7 for the next two years and claim it's a phase. Exploring his identity.

Whatever un-chill thoughts he may have? Not making it to his face. Whoever the assholes on the other side of the glass are, he's not giving them shit to hold over him. As one shadow looms closer, he scrambles to his feet to retreat from the center of the case, until his back bumps heavily against the glass wall behind him, shoulders braced for a fight.

The glass cracks, just slightly. His head turns, amber eyes focusing on the thin line that's slowly crossing the panel, before his deadpan stare glances back to the other side. The moment stretches, and then he takes a running leap, springing for the wall with athletic grace, ready to drop-kick/bodyslam/pirouette off the handle and on his way to freedom...

...Only to be bounced back like an teenaged idiot who just tried to drop-kick/bodyslam/pirouette off a fucking wall, laying stunned on the floor. ]

Fuck.

[ Well. The case may have withstood the first attack, but at least it looks like it won't survive a second. Just give him a minute, ok? You could also help him out, or maybe just stand there laughing. Your choice. ]

III: You, him: teacup challenge. Let's do this.

[ If you're lucky enough to get paired with him on the teacup ride, prepare to be hijacked into helping him check a ridiculous stunt off his bucket list of increasingly stupid lifetime achievements. ]

You ready to spin it to win it?

[ He's leaning forward, hands gripping the center wheel in perfect form, expression set in implacable determination. There's a sense that things are about to go horribly, horribly off the rails, whether or not you're down for the ride.

You may wonder how the fuck somebody wins at teacups, and Professor Di-Stri here is about to teach you. ]

Wildcard: Bring it.

[ Hot damn I love brainstorming. HMU on Plurk ([plurk.com profile] coolbrewed) or on Discord (coolbrewed #4435) if you wanna chat ideas! ]

[tori's favorite color has remained the same since he first saw miai under the warm sunrise, introduced early in the morning to everyone, and he likes the pink that resembles it; they sit and he's a lot better with this than the animals, which he eyes warily beside them.

miai is paler now, which worries him like, a little, since miai likes the sun and has always drawn towards it (much to his own displeasure), but it does make him more like an angel..♪ so pretty, so kind, so warm as tori presses into his side.]

You too~! You too, Miai! ♪ Um, as for me, I've been a good boy like usual~. School's bo~ring though. [and. he's lonely. but he won't say that.] But I don't want to be left behind, so I'll do it anyway~. God wants all His children to have a good education.

[or something like that. tori's about as concerned to god's actual words as usual, nuzzling into miai.]

But who cares about stuff like that? What about you, Miai? I want to know what you've been up to too! [and he wants to be told he was missed again.......... how heavenly it is, to be thought of and missed and company wanted.............]

jfc that'd be hilarious LET'S DO IT

[His frown only deepens at the question-- though it feels more of an accustation, to him-- and he has to remind himself to be civil. Touya was someone dear to Sakura, even if she complained about him a lot, and getting along, for her sake, was ideal. Last thing he ever wanted to do was upset her, after all.]

... she went to go get some food.

[His voice is stiff as he continues to eye the older boy, posture not relaxing an inch.]

She has my wallet, so she'll be back soon.

[Lest Touya think he made her buy all their snacks herself, though she probably wouldn't touch his money, anyway.]
