AU WORKSHOP - MAY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc. BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant. AU NAME: Ava Stewart
AU AGE: 20
AU OCCUPATION: University Student/Seasonal Tennis Player
BLURB:
★ Was born in the US to a middle-upper class family.
★ At a very young age, her parents had her go through an array of hobbies and other activities until she found one that she felt comfortable in -- tennis.
★ Ava had a natural talent for tennis; however she lacked balance and stamina.
★ She was registered to take aikido classes a year later.
★ Was raised in a overly strict, conservative household with a mother that uses her talents and achievements as though they were her own (extreme stage mom or soccer mom types).
★ Once she began middle school, Ava began to participate in countless tennis and aikido tournaments.
★ Ava did the best in tennis to which she began to gain classifications and high rankings.
★ Due to her parent's work and wish for her to better improve in the sports she was actively participating in, Ava had to move a couple of times across the US: Texas, California, Florida, and Georgia to name a few.
★ In Texas she was introduced to parkour by a couple of friends from the local tennis club as a way to help her escape from home (since her mother is overbearing).
★ After witnessing her mother actively harm another player during a tournament, Ava began to grow guilty conscious, losing all of her motivation and realizing the immense amount of pressure her parents were pushing onto her, after purposely losing that particular tournament.
★ Discouraged by her lack of improvement in reaching the necessary titles to play internationally, she decided to live a semi-normal life in high school, doing whatever she wanted and participating in whatever sport for enjoyment.
★ Ava joined the tennis teams at Recolle High School with the requirement that she could arrive for practice whenever she wanted to in exchange of representing the team for major tournaments.
★ Ava had decided to dedicate most of her energy on aikido to help maintain her figure and skills in the mean time.
★ Throughout high school, whenever she wasn't participating in any major tournaments, Ava's mother forced her to work in the family business.
★ Whenever it became active season for tournaments, Ava would always score high for the school while occasionally winning them awards.
★ In her senior year of high school, Ava and her family moved back to New York, so she finished her final year in a presdigous academy.
★ Due to her impressive skills in tennis, she gained a full scholarship for Recolle University as long as she joins the tennis club as an official member.
★ Her official major of study at the university is business, to become a consultant, just like her mother.
★ Other than parkour or going out on her own, running helps her relax whenever she is feeling overly anxious or stressed out.
★ She is very superstitious, doesn't believe in luck, and is afraid of anything related to occultism or "true" magic.
★ Has no interest in religion, but does follow the pacifist philosophies taught in aikido.

★ Characters that may have been her friend or crossed her path throughout her elementary and middle school years. Pen pals, anyone?
★ Close friends that know about her family situation and/or know she isn't as positive nor calm as she seems (this can be non-friends too; they just need to know her).
★ Recolle high school graduates that may have known her through tennis club and/or current college students that are in the tennis club, practicing aikido, or have a business major.
★ Tutors! Ava needs help in keeping up with most of her classes and her grades do affect her athlete and scholarship status.
★ Professors, coaches, teachers, and just authority figures that look out for her or want to make her life a living hell. Does someone want to help her find Jesus?
★ Characters that encourage her adrenaline junkie habits by getting her into dangerous scenarios! Characters that encourage her to gain good habits. Good and bad influences, mainly!

If you don't mind her having a pen pal from a different country, I can also offer him for that as well? He's from a wealthy family in Hong Kong, so maybe they could have exchanged a few letters here and there when they were young?

If you don't mind, would you be okay at the idea of having Leon attending Recolle U be another reason for Ava's parents to become more agreeable over her attending? Since I imagine her parents will be hoping they would become good friends, just enough that Leon can be used to help expand their own business overseas, or somewhere along those lines? Ava isn't keen on doing that, but knows well-enough she needs to act the part of one in their presence to allow her some wiggle room to gain some form of freedom.

I'd love for Leon to have some more pre-Recolle connections before he came to the university, so if you are down, I can also have Ava be another reason why Leon attended as well? Like maybe their parents can have connections with each other or something? Like, their families can help each other in wanting to grow overseas? OH NO POOR AVA, I hope she finds the freedom that she wants.

No, seriously, she would make his head swell just to get free passes on stuff, specially homework.I am all for them teaching each other their native tongue as penpals and tutoring! Maybe he helped her withher very awfulCantonese while she gave himterribletips on proper English?It works perfectly, yes! I think having him + family will help a lot for her. Maybe she doesn't even need her internship anymore. Hmm. Anyway! Thank you so much for volunteering as tribute on adding more flare to her history. I'm looking forward to playing with you!

And I imagine they will! Hopefully Ava will be more accepting of everything this time around. Either way, Kaede can fill her back in and Ava can tell her the details of life living without the app and getting back is like if she doesn't have that info.
