AU WORKSHOP - JANUARY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. BLURB:

BACKSTORY
» Only child, born and raised in England
» Mother is a pediatric nurse, father is a primary school teacher
» Never had a terribly close relationship with his parents due to their busy work schedules so was mostly raised by his uncle
» Close relationship to his uncle who is a former head chef. Was the one to teach Ignis basic essentials on cooking
» Family was very lower middle class bridging to lower class so Ignis is very familiar with financial struggle
» Visited his mother's workplace at a nearby children's hospital every once in a while when his uncle could manage to take him
» It was at this same hospital that Ignis and his mother met Noctis (kittycaterer) as well as Noctis' father
» Ignis' mother was asked to be a caretaker for Noctis by his father, she accepted and would regularly bring Ignis along
» Ignis and Noctis were basically friends during a portion of their childhood and Ignis helped take care of Noctis
» At the age of 12 he decides he wants to be a caretaker like his mother, and so once he starts secondary he focuses so much on his schooling that he doesn't have time to care for or even visit Noctis anymore. That's the last time they ever see each other
» The years go by and Ignis eventually gets into a community college, gains his certificate as a nursing assistant
» A few months after his 22nd birthday Noctis' father informs him that Noctis now lives in Recolle and he wants his help with caring for him there. Ignis accepts and moves to Recolle to become Noctis' caretaker

» When it comes to his profession Ignis has more of a tendency to be more openly civil and nice, otherwise he is kind of standoff-ish and snotty. He doesn't intend to be this way he just isn't great at socializing

LOOKING FOR: Friends mostly! Seeing as Ignis is not the social type and most if not all his free time (all his time PERIOD) will be spent caring for Noctis it would be nice for him to have some friends. Like I said, he LOVES coffee so he will be at coffee shops often. He's also a library sort so catch him there! Also people to associate with while he regains old hobbies would be especially great!! I plan to get him more into cooking, some sewing, as well as playing the piano again and maybe some yoga (he did fencing at one point though he's not big on athletics).

HELLO!!! Minako here is a friend of Noct and Prompto's, and I would love her to have CR with Ignis...some points of possible connection I can offer up:

-> she has a very sweet pupper called Koromaru who could take a liking to Ignis
-> he could come to the cupcake bakery she (and soon Noctis!!) will work at called the Confectionary for coffee
-> she's an event coordinator for the city's volunteer association ReVA, so if he ever wanted to do that occasionally he might've seen her around!

they should totally walk their dogs together! and I heard Noct was getting a job so Ignis will def want to head there to investigate for mother henning safety reasons the place, it'll be a hangout of his for sure lol

the volunteer association sounds interesting so i'll have to look into that as a possibility for Ignis. do you have a rundown of information on that i could read? :Ta

I have the official IC write up here! Need to fix it up a bit to account for some of those characters having dropped, but the general idea is that it's the organization that plans and hosts a lot of events (both handwaved and logged) in the city, so we could easily figure out something for Ignis if you're interested!

now that i think about it more i may very well toss Ignis at this, since it sounds like something that could give a good sense of direction in his life (he's sort of having a WHAT AM I DOING WHAT DO I WANT TO DO WITH MY LIFE crisis). he's very focused on health (mental and physical) and well-being, esp because of his mother and uncle, and he understands how important teaching is from his father so this sounds right up his alley!

Hello there...another friend of Prompto and Noctis here. This is Penelo, AU name Penelope, who's definitely a coffee person. Between that and the friend connection they've probably seen each other around enough to know names? Pen is a laid back, easygoing sort. Easy to get on with.

Same mun just different account. Yeah, Pen is a little high energy (She's a YouTuber and a performer) but her personal life is much calmer. She also can relate to Ignis on a spiritual level. She's the voice of reason in FFXII and as memories start to return they can share war stories.

i heard Rosalind basically adopted Noct! thank u for caring for his son ;_; i can totally roll with the two of them being familiar from ages ago. she may be the only person who is capable of embarrassing Ignis by knowing things about him as a child hgkjfds. please only use these powers for good and not evil, Ros...... i legit have gathered a plethora of ridic headcanons for Ignis as a child while he knew Noct so if you want any of that for Ros' knowledge then just let me know!

Omg please give me all the headcanon . . . BUT YES for her end, she worked for Noct's father as a researcher, and one time got saddled with watching baby Noctis, and then suddenly he asked questions and she taught him and he got attached and kept coming back and there we are.

So yes tell me about child Ignis and how he and Ros interacted, b/c I feel like Ros takes one look at another baby following Noct around and is like god please i am not running a school, where did you even come from.

baby Ignis has very good manners and behaves well there is no need to worry!! he was basically like a quiet baby duckling and followed Noct around EVERYWHERE, very watchful and very doting, essentially mimicking his own mother's behavior. he'd (attempt to) cook for Noct on occasion and they'd leave the kitchen a mess, Ignis would read stories to Noct in bed, he'd even sing cheesy old Disney songs to him (examples: 1 2 3). and whenever Noct was too sick to be able to go outside for days Ignis would sneak him outside on piggyback and they'd just have themselves a makeshift picnic outdoors

ALSO Ros would know that Ignis' nickname as a child was "Iggy" so she could get away with calling him that |D

Hello! My girl Felicia here is a gym friend of Prompto's and is someone who thought about majoring in nursing before deciding to go for the physical therapy route. Additionally, she's a bit of a jogging nerd and it's possible that they've crossed paths while Ignis is walking the two doggos.

She's also super friendly, and would be more than willing to drag him around if he needs it.

wow I am so sorry for the late reply, RL got kind of crazy on me. But yes I love the thought of Ignis making friends with people in the medical field!! He was sort of a lone wolf during his school days... so please drag him around into social life, save him, he's only 22 he needs to live a little more ;A;

I'm very okay with this! Ignis didn't make much of an effort making friends when he was in higher education but it would do him some good to meet more people in that field here in Recolle, it'll also help him with a bit of a crisis he's been having on whether he went into the right line of work or not.
