BLURB:

- 21 years old, chronically homeless. His name will actually be [SOMETHING ELSE] with Yato as his nickname.
- Moved from the countryside to Recollé at 18 to escape his father and has struggled to make ends meet ever since. He actually tries quite hard to find steady employment, but somehow, something always seems to go wrong and he finds himself terminated in record time.
- Between real jobs, he takes on oddjobs. But his vague, obnoxious advertising guarantees that he'll only get the most desperate of clients: his (nick)name and phone number can be found graffiti'd in red and carved into bathroom stalls all over town along with the proclamation "I'll solve all your problems!"
- When he's not working, he's probably dumpster diving. That ugly but perfectly serviceable sweater you threw out last night? His now. And he'll judge you for throwing it out, too.
- He'll sneak into the university every once in a while for a change of pace.
- Thanks to his intense, indiscriminate job-hopping, he's a jack of-all-trades. From plumbing to weaving to tutoring, he's your go-to man for quick, cheap, reliable service. Emphasis on cheap.
- Raised not to ask too many questions, he has a diluted moral sense. He'll do virtually any job, however dirty, whether or not he enjoys it. A shrewd fighter handy with any kind of blade.
- Despite his distant attitude (at least initially), he can be surprisingly naive and excitable. So much so that he's easily scammed, has a gambling problem, and still believes in Santa Claus (or his Recolle equivalent??). Once you get to know him, there's no question why he's a hobo. A well-intentioned hobo, but 100% a hobo.
- But he tries to keep clean at least somewhat regularly. Can't chase away the customers...
- At night, he'll sleep on any bench, under any tree, tucked into any corner.
- His dream is to earn enough money to build himself a house by the ocean and live with his pretty wife and a hundred servants. It would help if he weren't so abysmal at managing his money.

LOOKING FOR: Patrons, always!! He'll draw you top-notch racy doujin of your secret crush with no questions asked. ;) Better yet, someone please teach him how to get his shit together, cuz this ain't no way to live. Best yet, be a friend.

That said, Yuuko is a victim of bullying and a potential patron but I don't think she'd call him up for anything urgent the first time. She probably just wanted to see if he was real... Who is this pervert putting his number on bathroom stalls??

Despite coming from a snooty rich family, I think she would befriend him while snarking at his... everything! Since he looks fun and she likes fun. Maybe she'll even call him to help her steal food??? who knows

I mean it's more like, flirt, snark, flirt, "should you really be hanging out with a high school girl?" Then they slowly regain their powers and Yato finds out she's a ghost, probably.

Also she wants bento boxes and bentos are made with love YOU CAN'T BUY A MOTHER'S LOVE but Yuuko's mom is dead in this au so this suddenly got 2real

The point is, she'll pay him to hang out with her because she's sad and lonely.

Omg, what a cute... Sorey goes to the university too, so they could easily meet there. I honestly think they'd get along fine -- Sorey's a ball of sunshine and he's very chill.

Bless you Sorey... Yato naps on the college lawns, sits in on classes every once in a while, and gets roped into little sports groups. If Sorey asks what Yato's majoring in tho expect a lot of SUSPICIOUSLY BLANK SMILING

If he sees Yato sleeping on the street, though, he's going to get kidnapped. In a nice way.

I see that Yasusada is a kendo dude and I'd totally want them to be kendo friends/acquaintances but Yato is too poor to afford anything more expensive than a dumpster stick

But he is totally the type to drag people in off the street or to like, practice in the park at night... and as a bitty he was definitely the type to run around and launch into a fight in an attempt to look for sparring partners so we could definitely do something with that!

He'd probably casually ignore her/be distant at first since he's technically not supposed to be there BUT if she bugs him enough he'll talk to her all cool like some coolguy

but it's okay because after 30 seconds he'll reveal himself to be the huge loser with no control of his life he is. Once they get to know each other better he'll probably show up at her doorstep to use her shower every once in a while... And gently break in to use it when he's desperate and she's not around, I'm so sorry Jade plz don't regret?? He'll stop if she yells at him maybe

I feel like Robin's probably seen him around enough that while I don't think she's probably hired him for anything she might buy food for Yato every now and then... She could also be a friend who'd try to teach him how to get his shit together!

He'll squint and be suspicious when she first buys him food, but once he accepts that Robin is just a good person, he'll press her to let him do a job/solve a problem for her!! But also still charge her his standard fee of five cents because look this is a business he's running

He hangs out at the library every once in a while too (because it's free) so it might be fun if they could chat about books and learning sometimes!! Yato is a bright guy and fast learner but didn't really have a high school life because of home issues, so I thought it would be nice if he could interact with a good teacher figure...

Yato can be the recurring joke character of Anya's life?? He probably shows up all like "TEEHEE FAST AND RELIABLE DELIVERY oh it's you hi." He'll probably get along with her more than others since she doesn't seem like she'd judge him?? He can brag/cry/vent to her about all the things he's done since the last time they met maybe

setz would probably be too stuck-up/socially awkward/some combination of the above to actually talk to yato but if he saw him around a lot he might occasionally toss him a snack bar/random job posting he found and possibly printed out just for him (and then casually walk away so that nobody thinks he actually associates with this guy omg)

he has the dumpster diving to an ART and keeps tabs on which restaurants usually throw out their food and when for maximum secondhand freshness!! maybe shiki can catch him creepily lurking around a corner and suplex him or something... he'll forgive her if she does give him food

and/or maybe they can have nighttime run-ins in shady alleys too!! i'm always down for scrappy friends, either PvP or PvE
