AU WORKSHOP - NOVEMBER Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Espio is reliable enough so he can be helpful, but he’s maybe not the best person to help with stress... he’s a bit demanding and doesn’t believe in chill!

BLURB:
This is Dante Rantanen's darkinferno long lost identical twin brother. Per Dante's AU, their parents split and Mom got Dylan here. (I'm not totally settled on Dylan yet, but for now we'll call him that.) His birthday is April 9th - thanks Abi.

So he grew up surrounded by music and theatre, being the child of a famous opera singer, tentatively named Lara. She's Australian (with family roots being Welsh/English and German/Danish) and pretty nice to Dylan - as long as he behaved - save for neglecting to mention he was a twin. Instead of having combat instilled him, his Thing in the AU will be music. He was made to practice several instruments (piano, violin, drums) and languages growing up (Welsh & German) and was rewarded by Lara booking gigs in Wales and Germany so that he could travel with her and get some practice in. They always returned to Australia after a few weeks/months abroad though. When Dylan was about to start middle school, they moved into the very ritzy Cremorne Point neighborhood facing the Sydney Opera house across the harbor. That's when the pressure really ramped up and Dyland started being spoken to about his eventual career in the music industry.

Dylan was being groomed to become a great composer / librettist, so he was asked to recite and compose poetry in his languages (French and Italian came later). None of this is something he's naturally good at, but instead had to practice a whole lot while feeling like a disappointment for not "getting it" as quickly as he'd been expected to. He's actually more visual oriented, with a good memory and imagination. (He'd be better suited to storyboarding or directing, but hasn't been allowed to develop those skills.) When he's in a bad mood and stressing out, he becomes a #firstworldproblems poster child, not realizing how good he has it and that his mother has tried her best to be very present in his life for a woman who didn't plan to have a child at the height of her career. He knows cousins and aunts and uncles and his mom's parents, just only sees them once a year if that and never all at once. They're spread out across Australia and New Zealand.

Lara is a lightweight when it comes to holding her alcohol since she normally abstains for the sake of her voice. One night, a month before Dylan arrives in Recollé, she got more than tipsy and let slip that he had a twin brother. Dylan didn't take the news well. He'd lived 20 years and never had any inkling about a brother, let alone a twin. His anger ends up directed at his brother for even existing, since Dylan was already struggling in his mother's shadow and living up to her expectations. Now he had to deal with this too. With all the brashness of a 20 year old with nothing to lose, he pulled as many strings as his mother's name would let him to 1) find Dante and 2) get transferred mid-year to Recollé to confront him.

- Childhood friend he perceived to be taking up all of Friend #1's time and grew to resent them (Sora)
- Middle school / high school acquaintance who got him into trouble and scapegoated him (Axel)

so I can't fit this girl into your particular background, but if you have trouble finding a childhood friend and since it'd be a funny parallel, there's the possibility they could've been best friends online together? they could've shared pictures together since I think at this point dante already looks different enough that she wouldn't have looked at his picture and put two and two together at all, and actually marinas naturally a blonde and only in her later teen years started dying her hair red, so she would've LOOKED like namine as a kid

Edgeworth is the same age as she is, so he might remember her from high school! And unlike her, he's pretty law-abiding, having grown up with lawyer parents. He probably worries a bit about her and gets exasperated at the same time.

RIGHT NOW he's back in Recolle High teaching PE when he's not ice skating for fame and fortune, so she can tease him about going back to school or something, weh.

Edgeworth is getting to know Sakura lately so he might also know Rin by extension? UH he graduated from college two years previously so they probably missed each other there oops.

Edgeworth was a track star in high school and returned to Recolle High as its PE teacher and the coach of a few teams, including track. He might have known her and possibly might even have competed alongside each other. Except that now, apart from his stint as PE teacher/coach, he's now throwing himself headlong into ice skating.

I don't know that it would be possible to fit Sora into Dylan's backstory, unfortunately, since he grew up in the non-touristy parts of Hawaii, but hey man you're definitely free to antagonize him as you wish now!

Or, if you end up having some history with Marina, Sora could still fulfill that roll minus the childhood friend part! Idk there's lots of different ways we could throw these two at each other. :3
