I don't let it "be" a scraggly mess, it just tends to end up that way by the end of the day. [or well more like halfway through the day, or even after the first couple hours of the morning, but. same difference]

a Byronic hero is a character who displays the traits of Lord Byron, who wrote himself into his work. here's a good quote about the first character to do this, straight from wiki:

"a man proud, moody, cynical, with defiance on his brow, and misery in his heart, a scorner of his kind, implacable in revenge, yet capable of deep and strong affection"

Byron was a poet and noble and a pioneer of the Romantic movement. he was notorious, sort of a tortured soul who had a lot of affairs with men and women, but those aren't really the traits that make a Byronic hero. they do make him a tragic one though

he was also dark haired and had fair skin I should add

I think it's because you look kind of tired... not in a bad way, it just makes you look more stern than you really are.

Yeah, seems the tiredness is very visible...nothing for it, though, since I'm pretty sure that's not changing anytime soon.

But at least it sets up an accurate expectation, in any case. I'm not about to pretend to be energetic. "More stern than I actually am" though, really? Most students seem to think it's a pretty proportionate amount.

I think you're kind. when you're hard on students it's only because you know they can do better.

But thanks, I suppose. It's a bit of a pain to get it there generally, but at least that way it stays out of the way. Makes lectures that bit easier.

Mm, not since elementary school really? Started growing it out a bit more in middle school, and have tended to keep it about this length since. [slow shrug] The obvious solution is probably cutting it shorter, but I'm just very used to it by now.

I get the feeling that's more of a teacher rating, but you know what, I'd say that's an improvement over the current scale everyone else is using anyway.

Unfortunately I don't think it's possible for you to retake any of my classes at this point, Argentum, but the sentiment's appreciated.

Good things can't last forever, this is the sad lot we all have to accept eventually. But at least with physics there's some calculus to pull back out every now and then. Even if it's just not quite the same as the real deal, admittedly...

but also isn't everything about rating nowadays? eat at a restaurant, leave a rating and review, never go for a 1 star hotel you know that's asking for trouble kinda thing

Guess that's true, when you put it like that. Though they're still not worth much even for those kinds of situations until you have a sizable pool of data to take your average from...

What, your physics teacher just isn't giving out enough homework, your workload's feeling a little too light still? True, it's a shame I can't remedy that in a professor capacity. [RIBBING IN TURN OFC though--] No need to be too worried, that'd be a legitimate enough question even if it wasn't a joking one. To be honest I was actually planning to move up to university level to start with. High school was supposed to be something in the interim, keep things settled until I had all the finances together...

But high school teens are terrible at math.
