That video is the best edited fan video of all time.

Peter's another cop, and he has a wannabe hero streak even though he'll deny it forever, so maybe they'll actually be similarly interested in things regarding Retrospec. Also he doesn't have any powers of his own yet but he would be fascinated by someone who is just starting to get them back.

I definitely want to get Mako back into the cop thing! i've been handwaving it for a little bit, so yeah! LET'S BE COP BUDDIES.

And I do have a plan to fully upgrade all of his powers, so he's going to have full firebending power, weak control, by the time AC clears.

You mentioned Mako having some doubts but Potemkin's thing is unwavering, scarily strict devotion so that could be a fun contrast, haha. Also Peter was into sports during high school but never kept it up beyond basic fitness, so he could join in on barely-concealed fanboying about martial arts/bending.
