SCHOOL FRIENDS!!

Yukine actually watches school sports because he comes to photograph the players for action shots! Normally he focuses on baseball, but there's no reason he couldn't start coming or isn't already coming to the football games as well! AT THE VERY LEAST shared lunch periods.

Oh perfect!! Yeah the football season is uh, long done, I think. But he could show up to off-season practice, or have gone to some of the games earlier this past year in the fall? Either way that sounds like a great way for them to at least recognize each other in passing in addition to lunch. NOW THEY GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER VIA THE FREAK APP.

(oh good. i'm glad we're on the same page here, then. the only question will be: who goes full jackass first between the two of them)
