I just adjusted. I had some practice dealing with kids since I was a nurse for a while and ended up dealing with kids at their worst and saddest. Before him I wasn't even thinking about dating, let alone having kids, so I kinda just jumped in the deep end. Especially since I didn't actually have to adopt him... I just wanted to see that whole thing through.
