If you like jdramas, I highly suggest the drama. It's got Ikuta Toma and Oguri Shun who play these two guys who witness the murder of their mom-figure and vow revenge. One goes into the police, the other into the yakuza. The manga has the same plot, but you could almost consider the first 70 chapters filler. And it's way seinen. The drama cleans things up a looooot.

LOL yes the lack of passion is def going to be a thing. Without his canon REVENGE driving him, he's more the sort to just kind of float along I think. Like, he'll be serious about doing his job properly, but there is no burning sense of justice in this guy. At least at first. He might quietly develop one when he starts getting memories back. He gets emotionally drawn into investigations a lot in canon.

How big of claws are we talking? Sure, they'd make clenching a fist hard, but there's always open handed techniques and weapons still!
