i think they'd probably be cousins on baren's moms side of the family?? i'm trying to keep the kumou family side clear bc there's a lot of kumous in canon in case they ever want to app in the future....
but baren probably met up with levy when he moved once he realized that his mom had some family that moved to recolle?? and told her kind of immediately "know whatever people say about me, even if it's shitty things and even if it's true, I'll always be here for you"
