that was definitely how we felt, too. there's so much going on and for people who've been here for years or have a whole other life without something to organize thoughts and relationships this whole thing would be really messy. I'm starting to follow up with people I spoke to on the workshop but it's just cool to me to see how everybody else is branching out. ALSO HE. IF HE DIDNT HAVE THE BAR....god I think he'd be bouncing around between jobs and I vaguely considered that initially when I was first working on his AU as a throw-back to Hermes being the jack of all trades!god. I had the idea of him juggling multiple things (personal trainer, shelter worker, some internship with town hall, possibly a job he hated, etc) before settling on the bar since the bar made more sense with who luke is as a person and where I wanted him to go. his au means he dropped out of college but I headcanon he was vaguely interested in the medical route or in the english route

and since you brought it up, what would karkat go to university to study? what does he want to do?

That was pretty much exactly what it was was like his dad wanted him to do something practical and get a degree that he could utilize in multiple ways and Luke was like "haha what about if I don't" and dropped out of college and now here he is, making drinks after his friends and being a dumbass

GOD okay he lives in an apartment above the bar so his space is cramped but it's very basic like he has dark colors (like dark blue bedding and a black couch probably and black appliances) so it looks more sleek than it really should be. coming from an upperclass family money isn't an issue so all of his stuff is like...NICE? it's just sparse. he has a handful of vinyl records framed and hanging on the wall along with a few movie posters just because the walls were naked, but he also has various photos of his family and people he likes tacked up on the walls too. He also has a small money tree that he keeps on the kitchen counter that he's trying not to kill, gj luke. eventually he will get a fish tank

this is eons late so you can ignore this if you want francy but now I'm curious. karkat and roommates, is it possible and what would he even want in a roommate?

IT'S POSSIBLE? karkat is actually a p private person so basically he'll need someone who like, respects his space and won't just barge into his room or something. they wouldn't have to like each other?? he knows he's difficult to deal with so he wouldn't expect to be besties with whoever he's living with, but they need to at least get along well enough to not attempt to murder each other. he would not mind living with friends but again, he does not have a lot of close friends so
