For Luke: if/when he regains his ability to talk to animals, what would he like to ask the Chocobos/how does he hope they'll respond?

Hmm... well, since he doesn't remember firsthand that horses were a thing, he'd probably just ask if they had any insight into wtf was going on lately. But I sincerely doubt the Chocobos know anything, so he'd probably just get into a conversation about birdseed or hay or whatever it is that Chocobos eat and go for free bird rides.

Rather than the chocobos, I think it would be time for him to visit the zoo! Maybe at night so no one thinks he's a weirdo, just a DIRTY TRESPASSER.

What would Ryoji ask the animals?

Talking to the zoo animals would be super cool, I hope he gets that chance! Though yeah, Chocobos will probably just be "No, I've always existed" but Ryoji would be hoping something like "I just popped into existence, it was the weirdest thing" and solve at least one of these mysteries. I think he'd want to ask how they eat carrots and apples with those beaks of theirs because apparently Chocobos eat horse food...
Is Luke still bringing home animals? Just casually leads a penguin home from the zoo, nbd

Overall, I think Luke mostly knows not to bring animals home any more... mostly. But wouldn't you want to get all that sweet zoo gossip yep why not

Where did Ryoji get the scarf in Recolle?

Zoo gossip is the best gossip, there's years of stuff to learn about people with their inhibitions down

His scarf... Ryoji and his scarf are like a singular existence so it never occurred to me it'd be an item regain-- SO it's just a generic yellow scarf, not The Scarf from the game. I forget which thread it was, but I made up on the spot that his mother had bought it for him when he was younger because he would run out into crowds and she needed something bright yellow in order to find him, haha. So it's special to him and that's why he always wears it! As opposed to the game where it never tells us what's up with the scarf, I don't think.

What's Luke's general day-to-day outfit like? Still a proper young gentleman with his dashing cap? I always forget characters aren't always like their icons, especially when they have different hair/eye colors they mean to regain aslkfjh

Basically it's not too different from his icons; he wears a blue cap and dresses like a nerd, which is why he's also a prime target for older kids trying to beat him up. Luckily, he's fast \o/.

Also, he sounds like European version Luke because I can't tell the difference too well but there apparently is one.

Does Ryoji get along with his parents?

Somebody get this cute nerd some graphic tees and dark jeans :P Sometimes I wish I apped a younger character so I could get in on this school stuff (and bully kids around or something idk) but then I sit here and go "no, i'm in school, i don't want to rp about school" lmao Do you have a favorite character type to rp? From what I've seen of Luke and Ryoga, they're both outgoing and really fun!

Ryoji got along really well with his dad before he died and looked up to him a lot. His relationship with his mother is good, but not as close as it could be, because she always treated him like a little adult instead of coddling him as a child growing up. Other than that, I haven't given much thought about his family life, because I intend to have him move out and live on his own someday in the future.

I guess I usually pick characters to app based on the setting and how I think they'd fit into it. For Recolle, I'm not great at coming up with AUs, so I just aimed for someone from a modern setting. Ryoga is great because he's loud and dramatic and overreacts a lot. I went for Luke because he's mellower and... isn't a total idiot that can't solve puzzles. At the same time, no one expects him to solve any earthshattering mysteries, which would be a bit of an issue with Layton himself.

Occasionally I'll just really like a concept or one specific trait about a character and try to look for a setting that sort of resonates with their canon. I'm still looking for someplace to play Senshi or Marcille from Dungeon Meshi because I really like the idea of cooking and eating RPG monsters, and because Marcille's faces are the best. Strong personalities are also easier to RP; my last couple of characters have been a manic robot girl, the most Osakan high school detective alive, and a cynical biopunk cyborg who uses violence to solve all his problems.

Was the Persona cast one of your reasons for apping Ryoji, or are you more the 'app whoever I want' type?

AUs are a struggle for me too, but mostly I play characters from modern canons because history and sci-fi are the bane of my existence, I am terrible at keeping facts straight haha. All your muses sound crazy amazing though! I absolutely love playing against characters strong personalities.

Usually I just app whoever I feel like playing at the moment, but for Recolle in particular, I was actually looking for a new game to play Minato because I already had an account from another game. I had just finished playing through P3 for canon review, and had vague plans on making a Minako account for memes, but then I saw the cast on the reserves list and ngl that convinced me :')

Do you like having cast mates, or being a lcw more? Or I guess in a huge game it doesn't matter as much

Histor(ical manga) and sci-fi are two of my favorite genres! Too bad about that research, though...

I think I prefer being a LCW, though most of the time I don't have a choice about it because of the canons I play from. While you don't have built-in CR as a LCW, you also don't have to worry about checking in with castmates, and you're pretty much free to build your CR and slice your time however you see fit. That said, it'd be cool if there was a Maya Fey around because I really love their interactions. Or a Clive or Hershel!
