Let's see, there's Don Paolo, Descole... When it comes to the antagonist I love to hate, the Masked Gentleman takes the cake. What a terrible, terrible person in every conceivable sense of the word. Put that guy in a garbage can.

But I think we all have to agree that this guy right here is the best antagonist. Look at his amazing fashion sense......

Is Ritsu really an esper, then?

I am losing it at his grin ohgod. Same as mine tho! We shall never know how he ammassed such funds for his schemes but... Level-5 plots, man.

OU Ritsu had it as his lifelong dream! He suffers an inferiority complex despite being a perfect, straight-A popular student, all because he can't do telekinesis, while his brother is the plainest of the plain and struggles with most things, but is a powerful esper. It's basically that whole thing where you want the talents your siblings have, but you can't do anything about it. Eventually, Ritsu does manage to get his powers, but at first he kinda goes nuts with it and tries to outright fight his brother. Keyword: tries. Ritsu is a mess.

How do you feel about the announcement of Lady Layton? My little sister's still "BUT DID LAYTON MARRY or are she and alfendi adopted".

I never really got into Layton Brothers and haven't been keeping up with Lady Layton news. For me, the PL series has always been about Layton and Luke, so it's kind of like the X-Files trying to replace Mulder and Scully with Reyes and Doggett: I like Robert Patrick, he's just not why I'm watching.

So I guess you could say I'm ambivalent about it. There's a lot of pitfalls it could fall into, but who knows? It could end up like Layton Brothers or be another Layton vs Wright (which had every reason to be a cynical cashgrab but ended up being completely glorious).

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you also like One Punch Man?

That's fair! I've been pretty behind and I'm sure the non-Layton and Luke stuff would be lower on my priority list too even if I was further along. I'm not done watching Layton vs Wright yet either! I remember being so hype I was literally on the floor when I first saw the announcement, then it had to take so dang long to be localized... so now I'm just watching an LP because I'm too poor to spend on vidya too much.

I do enjoy OPM as well, but it's fairly clear which one of them is ONE's more "serious" work! In a way, Saitama's hero as a hobby is funny in the meta that OPM is ONE's hobby and MP100 is his career. I'm still kinda salty that the anime really wrecked the 4koma comedic timing with OPM though, Bones did better with MP100's snippy, quick gag delivery. Here's to hoping s2 better delivers.

What's your favorite CR in the game at the moment? :>

For Ryoga: Vella (because they can both be enormous sarcastic sourpusses), Prompto (because they end up feeding into each other and encouraging each other to go full-in on increasingly dubious plans), and Noah (because they have stupid arguments that end in disaster, much like Ranma 1/2 itself). Chloe is also unusual in that she tends to calm Ryoga down instead of winding him up, which is rare.

For Luke: Ryoji! They have an opposites-attract vibe, with Ryoji totally being into ghosts and witches and Luke trying to be logical about things (but also liable to get sucked into Ryoji's pace and getting increasingly weirded out by Ryoji's attempts to reassure him that if he just peels the faces off those fruits, it'll all be fine). Ryoji doesn't try to talk down to or coddle Luke, either, which is something most twelve-year-olds appreciate I think. I can honestly say that all their conversations have been interesting so far.

What types of plots are you looking forward to in the game?

Aww those all sound so interesting! I'm glad there's such a colorful crowd in the game.

As for plots... hm! I do know this is going to be mostly player-driven rather than by NPC's, but I'm most definitely intrigued about the eventual existential crises more muses will face than not. I'm sure not all people will become better, I daresay I'm even more excited for people figuring out the uglier sides of themselves!

Now onto a sillier question... do you sleep with a stuffed animal like Luke does?
