are there any scenes in canon that inspired larxene's au in particular?

Any exciting plans for Jade's regains you're willing to share?
no subject
there are a few big regains i can't wait to get - memregain wise, there's the fight with jack that ended up with jade killing dave by accident at the top of my list, but i'm also curious about getting back the three year journey she did by herself, and poooootentially grimbark, if that'll check out. the latter of which is something i'm particularly interested in due to who jade's mom is in game, aaahaha. item wise i really cannot wait to get back a few things but her lunchtop is at the top of my list, and the wardrobifier, if i can swing it. powers and appearance wise, i've mentioned her dog features (they're too cute not to...) but i cannot wait to get her eyes back. judging by how magnified her eyes are when she wears them, they're a heavy prescription, and none of her cr who has gotten their eyes back have had any problems with their vision. i can't wait to be bad.
but other that that i have a big interest in her teleportation just because the shenanigans that can ensue are. excellent. space powers are op, but i just want to use them for silly things at the moment, ahaha. THIS IS A LOT. i apologize.
we both know this but larxene's a villain in her canon; do you foresee her going down that nefarious path in game again, or is it more hazy?

chloe's an interesting choice since kirika and mirielle are pretty much the poster assassins for the series - were there any scenes in canon that drew you to her?
no subject
Chloe's always been my main muse from the canon. If I want to play a voice 'like' Kirika, I play as Rei Ayanami generally. I see characters like her as being partialy derivative of her personality, so I have trouble playing ones that aren't her (even if Kirika has a lot more in her head than Rei did.). Mireille simply isn't a muse for me. I love playing opposite her, but I don't generally lean towards characters like her.
But, if there's a scene that cemented my interest in Chloe back when I apped her to Amat years ago? It was the moonlit tea party, or the final build-up to her death. The aspects of her as a potentially redeemable, tragic but at the same time legitimately psychotic and unequivocably evil person made her much more interesting than a lot of deuterotagonists for me. It gave me a bit to work with when I joined Amat (though I was also tempted to app Rose in just because technically she was appable at the third book when I joined that game).
What's your favorite and least favorite character in the homestuck canon?

on that note, one of my fave aspects of noir is the music, so are there any tracks you find yourself coming back to over time?

that said, a lot of it is also just constantly rereading lmao, the wiki has a bunch of links which make that incredibly easy these days - i don't know if it was a thing back when hs was first starting up as The Big DWRP And General Fandom Fad, but i find that if i'm ever struggling to find something, remembering what chunk of the story it occurred in and who jade said it to makes that a lot easier!
ryoji is really cute and i love seeing him around! he's a very forward character which i'm pretty curious about; were there any worries you had bringing him into the game, whether they were with adapting his canon self to be au or whether you could achieve the effect, so to speak, that you wanted with him in game? (i.e. just making him fun to tag - which he super is, i love our thread!)
no subject
And thank you! I've played Persona 3 many times through before, but I've never considered rping Ryoji until like... literally two days before Recolle reserves went up haha, so a lot of my worries is "Does Ryoji sound like Ryoji?" and whether he's too colored by manga/CD drama influences, but the AU aspect of this game alleviates a lot of that. aka mostly I do whatever I want. Adapting to AU wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be though, because his canon is basically him not having memories and regaining them over time, so I've been pretty happy keeping things parallel here!

there's got to be at least one scenario that drew you toward apping jason to recolle - so what was it that sold you?

i'm gonna do both because i love both questions fuq u. anyway - there aren't a lot of differences? but, i am going to say that jade has a bit of a wolf pack thing to her thanks to growing up in such a tight knit family. the wolfs have been through a lot, and jade's very attached to her mother and father. she grew up alone in canon, so this is obviously a major difference. however, thanks to the part where her parents were both hard workers who had a bunch of a rough upbringing themselves, she's very, very protective of people she cares about to the point that she offers to walk her friends home if she's worried they might be in danger. i really like this aspect of her because i find it to be the thing that makes her the most obviously bigby and elizabeth's kid - or rather, the thing that makes her most obviously a version of herself with family.
my favorite jade quote is absolutely this one:
I REALLY ADORE THE IRONY IN GRELL'S AU. it is absolutely hilarious and fantastic, and i adore it. where do you think it'll take her - ultimately remembering that she's jack the ripper, that is?
no subject
i think that remembering all these things - and remembering the feelings and anger behind it - is going to definitely shift her from purely trying to help into someone who's more willing to be selfish and look out for herself instead of just pretending to be confident. i can't say it'll make her a killer, especially when she's spent a good portion of this life looking towards death and knowing how much it affects not just you but people around, but it'll ignite a lot of dormant morbidity, and while it's possible she could good end, CR and circumstances are going to be pivotal in seeing if she can really come to the conclusion that this is a new chance, a second life in true, instead of just falling into the grip of old habits and a very pessimistic outlook on the world under the surface. either she'll kill the past or the past will kill her, but we'll see how it goes.
jade's idea of a perfect summer day?
no subject
jade's idea of a perfect summer day is swimming in the river in the campgrounds! she'd definitely want to spend it outside and top it off with a popsicle just before sundown, at which point she'd just want to go home with cuddle with a doggo.
when you say "the past will kill her" what do you mean? is there a particular aspect of that you'd want to play out?

what aspects of dolly are you most looking forward to portraying?
no subject
i'm looking forward to playing out dolly slowly becoming a robot again and dealing with that. i honestly am hoping to do some body horror-esque stuff with her in relation to her body and i'm REALLY looking forward to that tbh.. but i'm also interested in playing out her kind of dual personalities that she has going on, she's going to remember some pretty nasty stuff that's happened to her so i think that will definitely change her personality dramatically and i'm pumped for it

were there any challenges in making yato's au? i'm only vaguely familiar with his canon (i keep getting it recced to me but i'm lazy.....im sorry) but it seems a lot of his identity hinges on him being a more....lower tier god, i guess? was that difficult to translate, or did you find that it worked itself out?
no subject
Yato's shitty bottom-tier god status in canon mostly manifests through him being extremely forgettable to humans, having to market himself heavily for wish-granting work, and living a largely solitary life on the streets (vs. big name gods, who have big entourages of retainers, lots of money from offerings, and big shrines or comfortable homes).
Making him some homeless dude for this AU was a pretty natural translation I think? The unfortunate reality is that most people tend to look away from the conspicuously homeless in everyday life, so Yato lives in a "blind spot" to people on the street in Recolle, much like in canon. In practice though it's been a little hard to maintain the integrity of his homelessness because people just keep feeding him and inviting them into their homes and trying to pay him well for his work, basically being REALLY NICE AND DECENT so lmfao. I guess it's just NPCs who really ignore him...
Does Jade have any insecurities about herself?
