My main arc planned for him is to regain his OU memory which means he'll start losing emotions/humanity so Togusa could be his conscience in that case

HMMM.... truth be told, i'm actually a huge fan of aradia; the moment she wiped out the ouijamodus was the moment she became my fave. a close second is sollux, though! i actually play sollux once in a while, ahaha.

I'd imagine he's more of a movie person or somebody who prefers short one season shows instead of series that drag on and on, but he likes coming-of-age stories! Emotional shows too, because he cries very easily.


I'm canonblind to D.Gray-Man but what are your plans re. Noah's Innocence arm, will he accept it easily, will he be freaked out by it, try to take it off like it's a prosthetic? I'm intrigued by this OP arm haha

I love when you go back to series like that and your whole perspective has shifted because you're older, but you still enjoy it.

Worse. They sort of cut his hair for Solid State Society, enough that it was out of mullet territory, but still not professional. But he'd look worse with really short hair, like now he's trying too hard to be the boss and losing sight of himself. I love the mullet. Which means you get floofy hair icon.

No specific regain, but a general malaise I am looking forward to where she has to cope with the question of "Am I actually a horrible person?"

This will probably come into play when she starts seeing 'what' she did to Kirika at points or one of her kills (that isn't themselves clearly awful)

Heh, no. I know Chloe, as a muse, pretty well. I've played her now in two games for extended periods and in three others for more brief periods. She, Reaver and one of my OCs (Samantha Grey) are what I would call very attention-demanding muses. Trying to run other voices is hard for me, because of the level of activity they usually get involved in. Chloe's just too nosy at times to avoid being my main and only. Amat taught me how much exhaustion Chloe+1 could be.

And what about you? Any other characters you've thought about?

Real answer though, I think it was deciding what I wanted his Thing to be if not cycling. YOU SAW MY PROCESS AND MY DILEMMA SOMEWHAT, I'm transparent. There were ideas that ranged from "lack of direction and drive where midousuji degenerates completely" to "complete sense of purpose likened to canon" in my planning process, but I ended up wanting to go with something where things are... very much the same, but the circumstances are kind of better? because those few tweaks I made makes regains more exciting. There was a delinquent AU, a bike gang AU, a fashion model AU (which is STILL funny to think about, good god), an actually-mediocre-athlete AU, a Perfectly Adjusted No-Problems AU where Midousuji's still a rotten egg because that's in his nature but he just did things differently... I forget it all.

There were so many AUs and yet I picked this one. These sound more interesting than what I picked, I'm sure. I ended up picking this one because it made the most sense to me to get a personality closest to his canon personality while still making the process of regaining his history interesting. But it was really, really difficult for me to decide what would work best.

A QUESTION FOR YOU: what memory of Jade's are you most excited to regain for her, and what kind of impact do you think the memory would have on her?

tbh it started out as a joke lucy made - we both wanted to enable jem and ray to join so we could get them to play with us, so i pestered them to app. but the more i thought about it the more i really fell in love with it; there's a lot of little parallels in their canons, i think, that make it work in such a way that i think regains will be a blast to play out. obviously bigby is the big bad wolf, so jade and him have that in common, but bigby's also associated with the cold (the wind, which his mother was sort of like a personification of, hence why he can huff and puff and blow your house down) which is also one of jade's motifs (she's not heavily associated with snow, but the cold in general comes up as a character thing for her) and on top of that, elizabeth and jade are both very much "princess in a tower" archetypes with near omnipotent powers - jade can bend all of space at her will and elizabeth can do very much the same. IN THE END, i think we picked the easiest way for all of us to come together and get the best possible cr we could with each other - it was a team effort that paid off beautifully, but it definitely was the fact that jade had a lot in common with the two of them that i think kind of sold us on it.

there's got to be at least one scenario that drew you toward apping jason to recolle - so what was it that sold you?

Oh, in general- I ship the hell out of her with Marluxia (forever in rarepair hell, sob) but she's most fun to bounce off of Axel.

god why do I like this trash princess? I guess it comes down to her being fun- unapologetically no-fucks-given terrible, but in a way that's entertaining to watch and to play.

One more: what's something you really hope to get to do with Chloe in this game?

I definitely took out everything with his mom! Canonically his mom causes him to run away when he's 9 years old, so I gave him an AU where he's actually close to his mom and loves her dearly. I also gave him only the one sibling (Annabeth, in this case) instead of the multiple half-siblings he has thanks to being a Hermes kid. Item-wise I made him a fencer so it'll be interesting to see what he does whenever he regains Backbiter. AND OF COURSE I didn't give him any of his scars and since he has two very important ones (his facial scar and the scar under his arm from when he stabbed himself) those are definitely going to change a lot of how he responds to everything

Is there more to share about the riot in Regina's backstory? It sounds like it was more serious/violent than the incident in canon.

Thank you! I've been immensely enjoying playing him in an AU setting, and I'm glad to hear that you think he's integrated well into the game.

That being said, there was definitely a lot of brainstorming that went into figuring out exactly what I wanted to do when it came to AUing him. The main issue that he was... well, a villain in the game, and therefore carried with him a lot of nasty character traits. But as a character he also had a past where he started out as a nice, sympathetic ruler and a healer -- and so I decided to go with that as an AU starting point, especially since it felt like the more natural way to begin.

BASICALLY I WANTED TO REFLECT HIS CANON, which meant that I wanted him to start as a relatively decent individual and with regains, potentially slowly revert back to his darker, bitter self. I had trouble figuring out his career path as a result, but finally decided on being a law professor? Since it reflected his political tendencies in canon (at least in the sense of knowing the ins and outs of law), but leaned more towards helping others learn and just... being not as big of an apathetic jerk to people.

SOMETIMES I STILL FEEL LIKE HIS AU HISTORY IS TOO BARE BONES but I'm generally satisfied with the result! Being in Recollé has really given me the fun opportunity to play out scenarios I'd never get to with an OU version.
