ABOUT: Xiaolang's a fourteen year old high school freshman from Hong Kong who's been in Recolle for a couple of years now! He's entirely too serious-minded for his age, and can be fairly quiet and aloof around others (or even prickly and tsun), but he's a Good Boy with a kind, fiercely protective heart, and he's been... sort of getting better at talking to people and being friendly? Recent events have made him a little better at it, but he's not nearly as outgoing as his girlfriend, cries-- He does have a lot of inferiority complexes, can be hugely stubborn about a number of things, and very.... very bad at communicating things he's not comfortable about, so he's got a lot to work through still! Also has a self-sacrificing streak a mile wide, like cut that shit out you're a child, bro

He moved to Recolle with his college-age cousin (and current legal guardian) Leon Zhong in 2016 (who used to be on the app but is now an NPC), and he's currently living with him and his second cousin Li-Na Yiu (invocate) in an apartment in Birch Hills! He comes from a fairly rich and influential family who have connections to various science and tech fields, and he's set to help his mother out (and possibly take over her position) once he graduates college. Of course, that's not for a good while yet, but he's very, very passionate about the sciences and tech fields (leaning more towards archaeology and astronomy, along with engineering), and he's fairly driven to succeed, so..... in short, he's kind of a huge studious nerd, HAHA

You can probably find him most times at the high school when Retrospec isn't making education impossible (he's in at least a couple of clubs and sports), at any sort of library, or out and about walking the family dogs Jasmine and Xun Hui! He may also linger at Expressive or The Confectionary from time to time, since Li-Na and his girlfriend Sakura work there, respectively!! He might also occasionally be on the college campus from time to time to meet up with his cousins too!

CURRENTLY: Right now he's... probably putting together birthday stuff for Li-Na?? (That is, if he hasn't found out about her kidnapping stunt and isn't absolutely furious at her for it, but--) Given his positive traits this month involve being hard-working, and all the energy the daylight hours bring, he's working non-stop on a million different things at once, and ofc his cousin's birthday is going to make it on there, so... party at HK house sometime in the near future?? As much of a party that a fourteen year old kid with minimum social experience can pull off, anyway--

Aside from that, though, he's also been pushing for a way to not reawaken previous app users for a variety of Reasons, though where that's going to go depends on his conversation with Zee (which is in progress because blugh, hiatus stuff) I do want to touch upon Xiaolang's self-sacrificial tendencies, since he's been really strong on the whole HIDE THINGS FROM PEOPLE CLOSE TO HIM TO SPARE THEM PAIN schtick, so hopefully sometime soon someone can just... metaphorically punch him (or actually punch him) to get that line of thinking out of his head

Aside from that, though, my plans with him have been kind of nebulous? Depending on what Sakura regains back re: Clear Card stuff and what that winds up triggering in him, he might wind up getting really stressed or having more bullshit to add to his CONCEAL DON'T FEEL pile!! I do also want to get him involved with plot stuff some more, some how, since he's still... really concerned about that staff vision back from November after what he been through in Respatrum 8'''|

REGAINS: WANTED: ANYTHING MAGIC (bonus if it involves spell books, circles or staffs), martial arts, sketchy kids with glasses, lying liars who lie a lot I want Yamazaki regains so bad, cards, silver haired mysterious dudes, people with winds, fancy costumes, cameras, living alone, ANNOYING OLDER SIBLINGS..... tbh I want to try to regain more plotty/world-building things, since he still has little idea of how a lot of this worked, but I'LL TAKE ANYTHING

WANTED CR: ANY, TBH-- Xiaolang's CR circle has severely dwindled, so I'm down for anything and everything people want to throw at me I'm down for more mentor-figures/mom/dad/older sibling folks, since god knows he needs all the direction and support he can get, and those who are willing to help him train and spar with sword stuff and martial arts things would be great too! Or even people who want to talk/practice magic stuff with him, since he's finally getting over that dumb stigma of his and getting a better handle of his powers would be lovely as well!

ALSO I WANT PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO TEASE HIM/DUPE HIM OVER STUFF?? Or just rope him into stupid antics?? since he's ridiculously easy to fluster and get a reaction out of and Xiaolang can never have enough people roasting him over things in his life (and I just want to RP silly nonsense, sobs)

ABOUT: One of the main protagonists of a supernatural drama light novel that deals with various shenanigans such as the typical body swapping you'd see in Your Name, she's surprisingly normal, but not without problems. Raina manages to stay very similar to her early canon counterpart, as she deals with a multitude of trust issues for no reason (as she's just like that) along with being pretty anxious constantly but hiding with a very well placed proverbial glass mask of confidence and sometimes messes with people online and off. She also has a problem with self loathing because she doesn't think she's a good person and desperately needs help. Oh, and she has an older brother named Rean that will more than likely keep reminding her of Inaba's boyfriend, Taichi. Also Cares Too Much about people if she gets too close but is going to try her best that she doesn't.
CURRENTLY: Currently holing herself in her room after the Yanderean Incident but will probably try to get things back on track soon once part two of the event hits. She's a first year college student taking computer science, psych and gen ed classes and works incognito at a cosplay cafe, so there's that.
REGAINS: I'm looking to trigger Taichi-centric memories (do you have a selfless dumbass who is actually selfish), but also memories dealing with discussing how to combat supernatural phenomenon. Also I'd really like someone to verbally tear into her at some point? On the other side of the coin, she's good for any analytical memories, memories of yelling at people for being dumbasses and verbally ripping into people and seeing right through them.

ABOUT: Malik is an 18-year-old shitty delinquent and negative CR-generator. He is really the poster child of "what not to do with your life." He's easily agitated and compulsive and tends to pick fights with people or bully them so he can feel better about himself because look: no self-esteem, ma.

Is he a good guy, deep down? Idk maybe. He's squandered a lot of good opportunities in game due to his poor self-regulation and general bad attitude, but believe it or not, he is genuinely trying to turn himself around. Turns out that climbing out of the hole you've dug for yourself over your entire life is uhhh deep and hard to get out of.

In canon he was heir to an obscure funerary cult, and a violent gang leader with a penchant for brainwashing and mind control. He can also control god monsters and is generally so specifically OP that his abilities are functionally useless outside of the narrative lol. Also he has a split personality that is 10x worse and he's afraid of him/it so, ya know.

He also likes motorcycles.

REGAINS: Yu-Gi-Oh is so fucking weird but I mean if you know anything about DEATH CULTS and CARD CRIMES I mean that'd be cool, I guess. I just kinda. Roll with anything because the canon is just so bizarre.

WANTED CR: Honestly, anyone who can tolerate Malik. I'm totally cool with ambivalent/negative CR, obvs, or else I wouldn't be playing an antagonistic character. For the softer side of things, anyone who can give Malik a hobby or just tell him to chill regularly would be nice. He has a lot of baggage to sort through and it takes... time... to get to it. He's pretty cagey about his regains because they're traumatizing buuut being able to cultivate CR where someone could listen would be nice too!

CHARACTER NAME: Ikuo Ryuuzaki (AU: Tatsuo Kihara)

ABOUT: Tatsuo is a 32 yr old who tries his hardest to be a responsible, competent adult. Alas, he doesn't always succeed. He grew up in Recolle and was raised by his mother until she was killed by a drunk driver when he was 10. Tatsuo then spent the next eight years in the Recolle Orphanage, where he met his BFF Matt (blessmefather), Derek (blondferret), and a whole pack of kids he considers family.

After graduating high school, he went to Rec U and earned a BS in Forensic Science, which lead to his employment at the crime lab. At the same time, Tatsuo was heavily involved in the Utsuki Dojo, where he's a 3rd degree black belt, and at present teaches an adult beginner class. Tatsuo currently resides in a modest apartmet in Tisse, rides a Kawasaki Ninja around town, and has an absolute goofball of a dog. He enjoys old martial arts movies and is slowly but surely learning how to cook. He's currently dating Mariko (megatechbody) after certain events last summer caused him to reflect on what he wants from life.

CURRENTLY: Tatsuo has made a lot of progress in coming to terms with his memories of his past life. He's becomes quite invested in finding out what happened in the past and trying not to judge his past self too harshly anymore. However, he's struggling with a lot of the magical bullshit everyone is having to deal with in regards to Vanderweele (and Retrospec in general) and probably always will. There's only so much weirdness he can wrap his head around, and that could prove to be a problem for him in the future. Future tech is fine, magic just makes no sense to him.

Currently, he's just trying to live his life. Go to work, teach at the dojo, spend time with his hot girlfriend, spend time with family and friends, take his dog on walkies. Tatsuo will also be getting some small items in the last half of this month. And at some point discovering he has a cousin he had no idea about, Shigure (morgrim). That'll be fun~

REGAINS: Need: people getting kidnapped, searching people's apartments, discussions about fathers, cute girls making him lunch, arguments with friends, lying to the police, organ transplants, searching for lost sisters, quitting your job...

ABOUT: Li-Na is a soon to be 19 yr old college student from Hong Kong. She lost her parents when she was younger, but was raised by her older brother (following a couple years with a relative who was NOT KIND to her). After finishing high school in Hong Kong she came to Recolle to improve her English, by doing an extra year of high school at Recolle High, before enrolling at Rec U as a dance major. Li-Na has studied ballet since childhood and dreams of joining a major ballet company after university. In Recolle she reconnected with her second cousin Xiaolang (cardcaptured) and lives with him and his other cousin Leon. Li-Na's older brother works in Leon's family's company back in Hong Kong as an engineer.

CURRENTLY: Li-Na keeps a pretty busy schedule. She hits the gym in the morning before heading to her classes. A couple afternoons a week she teaches the toddler ballet class at Dancinerate. Once a week she takes a capoeira class at the Rec Center. On the weekend she does a couple shifts at Expressive. Any time spent not on homework is spent dancing, though she can be lured away in the evening by promises of karaoke, bubble tea, pastries, and/or romatic comedies. Not that any of this prevents her from getting up to hijinks... like kidnapping Zee. Sorry Zee.

REGAINS: Need: Still working on major Lenalee moments during the Ark arc (probably going to leave most of the battles since she's a bystander for pretty much all of them) which involve feeling trapped and angry because her legs won't work right, as well as doing her best to put on a brave face for her teammates. And then the destruction of the first HQ and Lenalee converting to crystal type.
Cen help with: dancing (specifically ballet), having an older sibling much older than you, super overprotective siblings, child soldiers fighting monsters, coffee, semi-sentient weaponry, girls who kick ass

ABOUT: Rinka is a 16 yr old high school junior. Raised by her mother in Recolle, she's bad a pretty cushy life. Her relationship with her mother is a bit distant and strained, though Rinka is very fond of their housekeeper, Julia, who has worked for her mom since Rinka was a child. She has no idea who her father is, but is curious about him to a certain extent. Rinka was raised to be independent as hell and that if she wants something, she needs to go for it. Rinka is on the varsity girls tennis team and also does track and field. She wants to attend university to study sports medicine or physical therapy. And she drives a powder blue Fiat 500 cabrio.

CURRENTLY: Rinka is adjusting to her new phasing ability and finding it quite interesting. She'll be experimenting quite a bit over the next several weeks as she explores just what she can do with phasing and what her limits are, particularlly where phasing other objects is concerned. She's intrigued by the fact her past self trained to heighten her senses and is going to try doing that herself. And as soon as she remembers that her past self knew martial arts (aikido and kali) she's going to try to learn as well.

REGAINS: Need: Aikido and kali, terrorism, human trafficking, underground fight tournaments, registering powered people, superheroes, detention centers, black ops teams, going undercover, major attacks on large cities, teleporters, phantom thieves, thieves who dress up in costumes, girls with super strength, precognition, clairvoyance, psychometry... honestly, if your character had a power HMU b/c I might be able to get a regain off it

CHARACTER NAME: Dark Bakura
CANON: Yu-Gi-Oh!

ABOUT: In the original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, Dark Bakura is the malevolent spirit who haunts the Millennium Ring, one of seven mystical artifacts forged long ago in the Kingdom of Egypt. A largely minor antagonist until the final arc of the story, Dark Bakura will do anything to get his hands on the other six Millennium Items and unlock the destructive power of the demonic god sealed within them, Zorc Necrophades.

In the game, Dark Bakura has been reborn into the city of Recolle as an ordinary (mostly) teenage boy. The orphaned son of a pair of young Egyptian immigrants, he is just as passionate about gaming and the occult in this life as he was in his last, often treating both as a sort of makeshift coping mechanism for his Abandonment Issues ™ when he’s not building up his reputation for delinquency.
CURRENTLY: At the moment, Bakhura Farouk is a high school senior with no college aspirations. However, he does have a part-time job at a local comics and games shop that he’s hoping to turn into a full-time gig after he graduates. He’s also looking to move out of the hotel that he and his boyfriend (Malik Ishtar) are currently living in and into an apartment around that time.

Ugh, responsibility.
REGAINS: At this point in the game, Bakhura Farouk feels as though he knows most of what’s necessary to understand what kind of people Thief King Bakura, Zorc Necrophades and Dark Bakura were even without knowing all of the details. However, he is down to talk about the occult with anyone who is willing to listen if you are looking for any supernatural regains!
WANTED CR: Since the easiest way to engage Bakhura is through games, gaming CR would be a great starting point whether your character has him added on not-Steam (Vapor?) or is constantly reporting him on a server for cheating/ban aversion/etc. On a similar note, tabletop group mates would work well for him, too, and particularly if they’re holding their sessions at his employer’s store.

If your character is on the older side, mentor CR is a void that’s been in need of some filling for a while now, too. Although Bakhura has been working diligently to turn his life around, he is doing it without the guidance of a more experienced adult, leaving himself to shoulder much of the emotional burden of this task by himself. Having more people who would be willing to listen to him could dramatically correct the negative view that he has about forming attachments to other people!

Another good, potential source of CR is Recolle High School, where Bakhura will be attending until May. Although he has been turning over a new leaf within the last year or two in a last-ditch effort to (barely) graduate, he's nevertheless spent the first 2-3 years of high school sitting in the back of the classroom without actually participating, being disruptive by talking back to teachers when they did try to compel him to participate, and cutting his classes altogether, making him something of a gloomy, mysterious student with a not-so-great reputation among both students and teachers alike.

The creepy occult-obsession and the goth look don't exactly help in dispelling that impression.
