[ The punch feels solid, meaty, real at first. But then, as if snapping a rubber band, the weight of flesh under her fist evaporates and now she's punching nothing but air. The fake dissipates into smoke.

[ The look of relief is quickly replaced by confusion, though, as he stares at his metal arm. He doesn't remember how he lost it. He's pretty sure he knew, or used to know, but right now, he's just drawing a complete blank.
