He would be pretty touched by that, he might open up a bit and say that he was getting away from a bad foster family that treated him like dirt. Would probably be approachable afterward(or at least Al wouldn't ignore her)

He would try to return the favour by using his pickpocketing talents to help them along then probably use some excuse or other to keep giving her "extra" money he stole(he is a big softie on the inside, doesn't necessarily admit it).

If she asks why does he know pickpocketing, he would probably give some weak excuse like "I wanted lunch money and there are plenty of assholes that deserve to go hungry, so I took it from them"
