Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here.

• Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM.
• For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC!

AU NAME: Still hashing this out, it's the hardest part!
AU AGE: early 30ish?
AU OCCUPATION: Reality TV star / restaurant critic
BLURB:
* Black sheep of an 'old money' family, got cut off after spending way too much money on traveling/fine international cuisine/other questionable activities don't ask
* Started off penning blisteringly (and humorously) mean restaurant critiques -> through contacts who got to know him a TV show was pitched -> ended up a reality TV star for several seasons of beyond-Gordon-Ramsay-esque chef and restaurateur abuse.
* Generally pleasant and charming demeanor, not quite an out-and-out asshole, but 'accidentally' finds ways to humiliate or abuse people for kicks on camera. And off camera sometimes too... oops! 8D
* Currently restaurant critic with minor guest appearances where he can get them
* Actually lives very modestly but acts like he's still 'fabulously wealthy' and is never seen without a high-end tailored suit
* Surprisingly chill with people from all walks of life... after all everyone is beneath him, right?
* Just as long as they don't try to serve him or even suggest bad-to-mediocre food; takes very little seriously except his status as a high-end gourmet. He doesn't have morals, he has standards.
LOOKING FOR:
* Other people in media/TV!
* Characters that own restaurants/are cooks!
* "Friends" aka people willing to put up with his shit
* Law enforcement and lawyer types he might know, because I'm sure this man has been sued and/or charged with assault/defamation at least once (okay more than once) -- and will be good contacts to have for whenever he regains his demon appetite for ~mysteries~.

Hi. Hi. Officer Togusa, I can point you at the other law enforcement people and junior detectives, too. Hi.

I've thought about it a lot over the years, but the obvious complications make bringing him to a game a little tricky. This seemed like a fun idea and a way to make it a bit easier to play him in DWRP!

And obviously, officer, it was the grease in that horribly filthy kitchen that made his hand slip and shove the chef's face into his own hot soup, it was certainly not intentional, my goodness, please let's not turn this into a big mess. Accidents happen, after all!

Starting out as a normal person and then fading into canon might help out for CR.

Yeah, it's all about that inflection point of just how normal, lol... but I can think of some really interesting potential character arcs for sure. Being a normal human who can actually feel threatened by things and isn't quite so perfectly composed all the time will be a treat to start though. :>

Absolutely. I'm sure he'd be a character to work with -- all cheerful and charming one moment but then you turn around and suddenly oh god what did he do or say this time.

Well 12 is going to be in his grumpy phase for a lot of it so he'll deal with it either way and most likely lecture him if he goes too far because someone has a job to do. stop being a child B| (he would say)

I'm sure that reminding him that he needs to be able to get work to, you, know, earn money? So he can keep going to $1000/plate places and having a nibble before tipping the rest on the floor? That probably helps. A little. Depending on his mood. ~~I'm so sorry.~~

Well that's fine though because the more 12 gets DOctor regains the less he will give a shit about his job XD so win win

First of all, bless you for playing Neuro.

Admittedly the main thing I can offer you with Roji is a potentially helpful source for memory regains/discussions down the road, as his memories will also involve investigations/mysteries with a supernatural theme! Coincidentally, Neuro even showed up in a couple of Muhyo & Roji's omakes, though I couldn't say if that would be a canon thing haha.

As for established CR, Roji is a cook! He works at Recolle U's cafeteria, if for whatever reason Neuro sought the place out. It's not high-end, though it's definitely far above the stereotypical cafeteria food. His cooking is actually pretty dang good.

~~How bad is it that I'm picturing Roji in a Yako outfit, skirt and all, meanwhile Neuro looking contemplative with a 'not bad but not quite right' look lmao~~

I remember Muhyo and Roji showing up in Neuro omakes too (Neuro trying to do a summoning: "Aro eroro... ero guro..." Neuro plz.) I'll have to go looking for the Muhyo and Roji ones now out of curiosity!

I like to think that for all the super fancy places recolle!Neuro is willing to go to and spend money on, it's really all about the actual quality rather than the perception that good = expensive. Of course even if it's half decent that doesn't mean that Neuro isn't going to be... Neuro lmao. I am totally down for this CR, you betcha, and hopefully catch ya on the test drive when it goes up?

Ahh! That's right, there were some on the Neuro side as well! It's been a while since I've read Neuro. Man, this is a good reminder that I need to give it a reread soon.
