Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here.

• Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM.
• For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC!

asd;lfkjasdf minato you're so productive and grown up now...... then we can definitely do that!! it looks like about a 3-ish year age difference?? but they could've just like. met at a park one day and chiaki would've wanted to be minato's friend tbh. there's no way to really keep him from developing that instinct to approach people LMFAO

so i'm all for childhood friends!! would they have kept up, do you think? letters or emails or chiaki going back on occasion to go see minato?

laughs, but yeah! 3 year age gap isn't an incredibly large difference. Maybe they had something like a "big buddy" program at school where students of different grades get paired up to help each other out, except Chiaki's going to be the one helping Minato out bc fair warning, Minato would've been very very quiet and withdrawn due to just having lost his family. Like those threads where I have him not speak for an entire 30 comments but he conveys stuff through slight body language instead. TELL ME WHAT CHIAKI WAS LIKE AS A KID!!!

They might've been able to keep up through scattered emails— aka lets Chiaki send whatever and Minato just replies to all of them all at once in a single collective email once a month or less... But after he turns 14 and leaves for the nomad life, he'd be much harder to reach and probably stopped answering after a while, and would never give a physical address to send things or visit bc he wanted to literally fall off the face of the planet or something

but also please fulfill my lifelong/since I joined Rec dream of having Chiaki calling him Arisu as a nickname if it's ic for him

AH YES. BODY LANGUAGE. what was chiaki like as a kid oh my god it's like he was born to be a big brother LMFAO. IT'S OKAY IF MINATO WAS QUIET AND WITHDRAWN it's probably why they were paired together because chiaki would've been chattery and patient and always asking minato if he's okay?? and just nodding along and being a straightforward child if he wasn't. they can just watch hero shows together and chiaki would want to play games and offer his hand out to minato to hold so that they didn't get separated when they walked around bc minato's so quiet!! HE DOESN'T WANT TO LOSE YOU. he'd try to be the big brother even if he's 3 years younger....

also can minato have been the blue power ranger when they were playing because chiaki really needs a blue power ranger so he switches between Arisu (probably bc no one corrected him as a child) and Blue

oh good good good, straightforward is exactly what Minato needs, he likes people who fill the silence so he doesn't have to and TV is always a good surrogate. Depending on when Chiaki/his family came back to Japan to visit, he might get to talk to Minato's grandparents who would've told him what happened/showed him Minato's farewell letter and stuff about how he's going to live on his own, don't worry about him, don't look for him, etc.

but omg he would definitely be the blue power ranger, he'll do all the sound effects too even if he leaves all the super hero speeches to Chiaki

CHIAKI WILL ABSOLUTELY FILL IN THE SILENCE. he would've asked minato "is it okay if i keep talking!" and "blue do you want to watch tv!" and "blue let's go fight monsters!" and if minato ever seemed sad chiaki would just give him a hug...... i feel like if they ever had an exchange about chiaki just being like "YOU SEEM SAD, DOES IT HURT SOMEWHERE" and just tries to put a power ranger or hello kitty bandaid wherever minato says it hurts.

THE LETTER WOULD'VE STILL WORRIED HIM IT'S FINE. he probably would've been like "IT'S OKAY, HE'S MY BLUE, I'LL FIND HIM SOMEDAY, I SWEAR IT" THE BONDS OF HEROES ARE UNBREAKABLE

that's all the support that chiaki needs omg what a good blue

asdflkjh Dana, I'm so smitten with the idea of Minato getting his chest plastered with bandaids half because he's just sad all the time/his lungs would still be really bad back then, half because he really love Hello Kitty bandaids and will take all of them

He can be Blue Arisu and Chiaki never knows his real/full name because it's been literally so long since Minato ghosted on him

HONESTLY he probably heard minato's full name Once to find his grandparents and then continued to call him Blue Arisu until whenever they meet up again in rec. and. he'll keep calling him Blue Arisu. and maybe try not to cry when he sees minato again it's fine

Heck... Minato runs away from home with nothing but a backpack full of clothes, some documents, and a side pocket stuffed full of Hello Kitty bandaids.........

I'm trying to hash out a timeline for Yukine's death fallout because he's currently a mess but I want him to be less a mess once the TDM comes so I can tag around with him and maybe Minato might cry too when he sees Chiaki because this is the one time in his life where he needs a hero

chiaki left a little box of hello kitty bandaids with minato's grandparents like "it's a little hard to explain and i'm not very good at that, but if he ever comes home to visit, please give him these!! just until i can see him again - if he's still hurting, i owe him a lot more!"

Chiaki would just be made of happy tears and he'd give Minato a hug and hE STILL CARRIES AROUND HELLO KITTY BANDAIDS so he'd give him a lot give his usual "if you ever need help, call out to me!! i'll always come running for you - i always wanted to find you again" etc etc. he's not the same as he was as a kid so he doesn't always know if he can be a hero - but it won't stop him from trying for minato, because if there's anyone who deserves the best from him, it's his blue

I'm going to cry if you use sad icons at me, Dana!!! why does he even have sad icons aside from his one card that's my favorite card, that's illegal

tell Minato exactly why he told his grandparents: "if he's still hurting, i owe him a lot more!" because he'll go oh nooooo at that word "still", that somebody recognizes that he was hurting and is still hurting despite all his bad attempt and pretending otherwise

YOU STARTED IT, CARD, AND I JUST INTEND TO FINISH IT chiaki has a lot of problems and his cards don't always encapsulate his ever-present sadness :')

HE WILL BECAUSE CHIAKI HAS NO FILTER. it probably sprung from some childish understanding "you only need bandaids if you're hurt but he didn't have scrapes so he must have been hurting somewhere that i couldn't see" and if minato disappeared after that then chiaki would only be worried that it got worse with a side of "if i stayed by him, would i have been able to stop it?"

IT'S OKAY IF MINATO'S A BLACK HOLE FOR BANDAIDS, CHIAKI WILL ALWAYS HAVE MORE. HE'LL ALWAYS HAVE HUGS AND PATIENCE.

even if chiaki himself is a little broken up now but it's ok they're doing their best and growing up together :') even if it's hard and it hurts

DON'T YOU WORRY, CARD, I'M HERE TO WRITE ENDLESS PAIN AND SUFFERING WITH YOU i hope minato triggers a lot of chiaki's painful memories and just makes chiaki all the more determined to take care of him as much as minato will let him
