BLURB:
- Hibari was born and raised in Shinjuku. He mostly kept to himself, and if he ends up with siblings at Recolle, they were probably the only people who were ever really allowed inside his head.
- He moved to Recolle to attend university. He grew up in a large mansion and currently resides in an equally-posh condominium.
- His parents are the current heads of a massive conglomerate corporation. Think of... Samsung, or something. It's probably named the Namimori Company lol... Both his parents raised Hibari with the intent of him succeeding his parents' positions and funneling him straight into one of the corporation's top positions.
- He was pretty pissed about this growing up and hated the idea of following in their footsteps.
- He was fed that narrative ever since he was young. Hibari spent most of his childhood rebelling against his parents' efforts in molding and shaping him.
- At 20, he still loathes his parents' controlling personalities, but has developed a sense of loyalty towards the position he's supposed to inherit from them. He doesn't hide the fact that he dislikes them, but no one would ever question his loyalty towards his blood or the family corporation.
- Currently a student at Recolle University. He's pursuing a degree in business administration. Despite initially hating the idea of succeeding the family corporation, he's decided to channel his energy into reshaping it to make his parents' success pale in comparison to his own.
- He still really likes animals! You can probably find him at the local zoo or aquarium during his downtime. He probably volunteers at the dog clinic.
- In fact, he tends to like animals more than people. Hibari generally keeps his distance from others, but his AU self is a little more mellow than his canon self. He can still be abrasive, but won't jump at people's throats if he dislikes them.
- He has a great sense of pride and is incredibly competitive when something does pique his interest. He may hate his parents, but he's grown into the corporate heir they wanted all along.
LOOKING FOR:
- Friends! Hibari mostly grew up alone and has very little experience with interacting with others outside of business airs. I think he'd actually mostly get along with people who were persistent enough to keep bugging him? Otherwise, he gets along fine with younger kids. He might know a couple people from a socialite circle he was forced into attending even though he 0/10 would not attend again
- On that note I think it would be kinda entertaining if there were one or two people his parents tried to set him up with to make sure they knew exactly where the family business was going? Unfortunately he likely detests those people as a general rule of thumb from the sole fact that it was his parents that tried to nudge him into a relationship rip
- I think siblings would actually be pretty interesting for Hibari? One or two younger siblings would be neat. He wasn't the best role model as a high school student so his relationship with his parents is a little strained, but he'd be super fond of his siblings.
- Classmates are cool! Hibari wouldn't be particularly talkative in classes but it's always handy to have one or two classmates you can nudge to ask about an assignment if one is desperate...
- Anything really! I'm down with hashing things out here or on Plurk and definitely willing to play with plots if Hibari happens to be someone that might fit into your ideas!

Minako is in her last year of school as a business major, so they could be classmates that way? She's also an event coordinator at the city volunteer association called ReVA, so his parents could've paired him with her?? ngl I'd love to see someone hate her, she'd be so adamant about getting into his good graces, but in general she's a good person to be an introvert's friend, so I'd be up for anything!!

Ahhh Minako is such a great character! I think classmates would definitely work for them if Minako is a business major! They've probably been in one or more classes together, maybe even a cursed group project... And if Minako is also an event coordinator at ReVA, it sounds like it'd mean Hibari would get badgered into even more forced interaction with her so he would definitely be pretty displeased about that situation dsklfj

Anyhow that would be a ton of fun and I am looking forward to him grudgingly warming up to her! I haven't ever really app'd at a DW game before but I finally got the timing correct with a game so I am [rubs hands]

THEY PROBABLY WERE... while also plotting the demise of their other group-members leeching off their work smh. I can't believe Minako is going to go from Hibari's enemy for trying to talk to him in class, then #1 enemy for ending up in a group project with her, until he is willing to grudgingly tolerate her presence!

I'm glad because I was already pretty excited about finally having good timing but this has hyped me up, now I really have to finish the last sections of his app o7

SHE'S TOO MUCH OF A GOOD GIRL FOR ANYONE TO HATE HER FOR TOO LONG, this is the problem with protags who make friends with everyone laughs! but I'm looking forward to the journey to get to that grudging willingness

Hello! Minato interns at the clinic (he's studying to be a veterinarian) so he could know Hibari through there, being in charge of the volunteers sometimes and organizing them each day! "he tends to like animals more than people" is something Minato gets a lot haha there's another volunteer who's exactly like that too, so they all tend to get along

It's nice to meet you! I suspect his volunteering started out as a PR thing but he genuinely enjoys being around animals so it was definitely the lesser evil for him... He may have made a donation or two to the clinic as well? Either way Minato is likely the kind of person Hibari feels all right about since he does still prefer when people don't bug him too much!

That would be great! It's also possible that Hibari has seen Minato around since Hibari is classmates with Minako? Either way, more connections are always great! Perhaps once I get my app in I can swing by an open at the clinic...

Minako and Minato's relationship rn is a little strained but improving, so they don't really hang out, but they're pretty easy to recognize as siblings on sight! Minato doesn't have a lot of coworker cr, so I'm doubly excited for that.

YOOO I love Hibari and KHR was like my main fandom for years so I'm pleased to see that people still rp from it!!

My first character Leon Zhong is a rich pretenious asshole from Hong Kong and is the heir to a technology company. So maybe their families could have been business partners and they knew each other from the same socalite circle? He's also studying business/marketing so they could also share a few classes together? He also has a dog that he would bring to the clinic.

As for my second that I plan on apping, Sayaka's family owns a Japanese restaurant in Recolle. She's in her last year of high school and is getting ready to attend the university soon but she has a pet bunny she could also bring to the clinic?

I'm glad to hear! I wasn't into the series when it first rolled out, but I have been stuck here ever since I first picked up the Manga a few years ago... I'm just here to give everyone their dose of middle/junior high flashbacks haha

I think it'd definitely make sense for Hibari to know Leon Zhong, especially if he's also an heir! Doubly so if their families were business partners, which might be why the two of them have been forced to speak with one another? I don't know too much about Zhong Hui, but oddly enough Hibari would probably get along okay with him? I feel like most people's attempts at being pretentious towards him are lost because he's so good at tuning things out....... Plus having business ties would be enough to force him into civility rip Hibari

I think the same could apply to Sayaka re: the clinic, but I also think Hibari could be a frequent customer at her family's restaurant? He prefers Japanese food over other kinds of cuisines, so I could see him dropping by to eat at Sayaka's family restaurant pretty often! He probably leaves big tips since he's always grateful for food that tastes like home...

That's really cool you got into it a few years ago! KHR is a fun series and it's exciting to see people starting it later on. SO THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES because I'm tempted to reread it again. What I would give for some kind of sequel to it

Being forced to talk to each other sounds so good and perfect HAHA maybe they could have met at some fancy business party when they were young? I'm so amused that he would get along okay with him and I'm absolutely down for that. Zhong Hui's super arrogant and assumes that everyone will like him so it would be hilarious if he was under the impression that Hibari looked up to him but in actuality, he's just tuning him out LMAO.

sahgioahg AHHH HIBARI THAT'S SO NICE!! Sayaka's going to let out the loudest gasp and be so eternally grateful. I also apologize in advance for her since she's super cheerful and will try her hardest to befriend him and chat with him every time he stops by the restaurant.

Yeah part of me feels like I just barely missed the hype train but it's never too late to get sucked into the black hole of a series! Also yes you should reread it, relive those bygone days....... I too am still sitting here and hoping for a sequel because you can't give me a time skip plot that only lasts for 1 arc? wtf?

I think Zhong Hui and Hibari could definitely have met at some fancy business party when they were young! I'm also entertained by Zhong Hui assuming that Hibari looks up to him because inside he honestly dgaf until he feels another person is posing enough of a challenge for him? I can't tell if Hibari would feel that way about Zhong Hui because a kind of rivalry would be super entertaining, but on the other hand it would be pretty funny for Zhong Hui to have a huge misunderstanding about what Hibari thinks of him sdjfkl

Also no Sayaka..... thank you for letting him eat all the comfort food he wants..... I think Hibari would be kinda bugged by her badgering, but tbh the more persistent a person is, the more he warms up to them?

let them be friends. Akira doesn't seem to have a competitive streak himself, but it's a total lie. he lives for the thrill and competition/showing off counts.

also, Akira can understand being dragged around to business parties, though he was never expected to follow in his parents' footsteps, he was shown off like a trophy kind of thing. My son can play the cello, he has been in these many concerts, got these many awards in school, etc. Just a life where it isn't exactly your own? maybe we can get into that later in the game or something!

Hello! I would love to hash something out with your Akira 10/10 encourage him to pester Hibari with his cat. That situation could be a lot worse since at least it's a cat bugging him...

Ahhh trophy kids... I think Hibari would definitely understand where Akira's frustrations re: living a life that isn't your own! He isn't really the kind of person to sympathize, but I think he would encourage Akira in his own backwards way to forge his own path? If Akira is willing to pester Hibari enough, bizarrely, Hibari might actually be a pretty reliable senior for Akira?

Maybe Hibari's dropped by the cafe where Akira works a few times? lmk if you feel there might be some other places the two of them might have crossed paths! I do think Hibari would be willing to stick around Akira if he sees Akira is making a genuine effort to figure out who he is?
