AU WORKSHOP - MARCH Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Definitely! Penny is a little older than him, but she would probably look out for him anyway. And I think it might be cute to have them bond over music as well. Is he a musician, or just enjoys music?

Probably! I'm not sure how older/younger Penny would be, but considering she likely tagged along with her sister a lot when she was really young (sorry Olivia, she would have been hard to get rid of), I don't see why they wouldn't know each other. They might even be friends!

Probably the latter; Everett here is new to town and probably is low on the totem pole in the library. That said, he'd be interested in learning about the practicalities of book repair so he can further his own ambitions.

AU OCCUPATION: Student + volunteer worker
BLURB:

⚔ Born and raised in Recollé to Japanese immigrant parents!
⚔ When he was seven, however, mirroring canon, his parents died in a fire where he was the only survivor.
⚔ He does have some slight PTSD in regards to large fires because of this, unfortunately.
⚔ He was then sent to an orphanage due to having no other family and was eventually adopted at some point.
⚔ Ever since the adoption, Shirou found himself having a bit of a hero complex - he admired people who could save others. And it's because of this that he enjoys watching a bunch of hero shows.
⚔ Shirou dreams of becoming a firefighter so that the tragedy of what happened to his parents never happens again.
⚔ At a young age, Shirou was rather proactive in doing volunteer work, and he still continues to do it even now;
⚔ He's a high school freshman who has a lot of dreams and aspirations! ...that will eventually get shot down when he starts having his memory regains, maybe.
⚔ In terms of classes, he's primarily taking the basics and he's rather average in terms of grades. He does manage to pass with a bit of a struggle. The exception to this being forms of science, where he excels.
⚔ Strangely enough, however, while Shirou does seem to have this wide-eyed fascination with heroes he doesn't have any hobbies to call his own?? He's always constantly either doing school work, house chores (such as cooking, cleaning) or volunteer work? He needs an intervention, send help.

LOOKING FOR:

⚔ Family members! I'd like him to have adopted parents or even siblings. I'm down for pretty much anything.
⚔ Upperclassmen figures he can look up to.
⚔ Also friends his age he can talk to!
⚔ Fellow volunteer workers.
⚔ People who love heroes in any shape or form.
⚔ I'd also like him to have some CR with characters who are in any type of law enforcement because he's completely interested in learning more about that in his dream to become a hero.
⚔ Also characters who have magic in their backgrounds
⚔ Characters that have one-sided crushes on him because he's fucking oblivious and prioritizes helping others > romance
⚔ ANYTHING ELSE that I might have missed???

OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: This might not happen this cycle, but alternatives I have are Himeko Inaba (Kokoro Connect), Ryoko Otonashi (Dangan Ronpa), Ash Ketchum (Pokemon, m20 version), Illyasviel von Einzbern (Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA) although I have been rather set on bringing Shirou at some point for several months, but you can change my mind! Maybe.

I know in certain high schools, there are programs where students will work with elementary or middle schools to either recruit or to generally help out. Maybe a few of Penny's students has been working with Luna's class?

Atsushi would love to try and make friends with him at the university! He’s kind of a sunshine child but he’s drawn to the edgy types because he’s so curious about them. He also frequents the library and works at a bakery.

Penny's a very recent transplant (as of September), so I'm not entirely sure that this would work. She didn't go to college in Recollé, so I'm not sure where their connection would be. I'm happy to discuss, though!

That would be great! It's also possible that Hibari has seen Minato around since Hibari is classmates with Minako? Either way, more connections are always great! Perhaps once I get my app in I can swing by an open at the clinic...

look, shirou has only one literal memory of shinji in the version of canon i'm bringing him from and he doesn't even know shinji's name

he's just "that asshole brother who killed sakura" and that he.... ended up killing himself. yeah. I CAN'T THINK OF ANY GOOD EXCUSE EITHER but if i end up apping him at some point. /thumbs up!!!

Minako and Minato's relationship rn is a little strained but improving, so they don't really hang out, but they're pretty easy to recognize as siblings on sight! Minato doesn't have a lot of coworker cr, so I'm doubly excited for that.

Oh no she wouldn't... well I mean as a younger kid she would have asked but honestly by that point Natalia would have been dealing with her own shit (losing the lower part of her left arm to severe concentrated bone cancer requiring amputation / getting a prosthetic when she was 10 so that would have been a few years earlier) so! Wow that May girl blew up that's. Unexpected. Wew . . .

But yeah as an adult now she's actually content to let trauma lie especially if they're friendly
