Dante Dante Dante

Elliot isn't close to Dante, and he wouldn't consider him a friend. That said, he does care about Dante. They have that shared past together, and Elliot's a total bleeding heart - it's basically near impossible for Elliot NOT to care about to someone once they are in his sights. That said, he's not really sure how to approach Dante...or if he even wants to be approached.

He's pretty sure Dante isn't all that fond of him, or probably still sees him as the kid he was ten years ago. Its understandable- Elliot does understand he is more "childish" compared to Dante. He looks young, he's small, he doesn't really drink or do drugs, he's physically weak, he doesn't swear, he's only been with one guy, and he still tries to follow in his mom's footsteps. He wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Dante wrote him off as still a child, and thus not really worth spending any time around.

But the truth is? When Elliot thinks about Dante, he feels sad. The sadness isn't really about himself, but it's for Dante's sake. Dante just seems so unhappy in his life from where Elliot can see, even if he doesn't openly admit it. Elliot's family may be the dead one, but Dante's got some ghosts he's running from. He's not sure what the exact cause of those ghosts are, but he has some guesses with what he knows about Dante's family situation, which just makes him feel all the more sad. While Dante acts wild and "adult", he gets the sense that Dante is more trapped and chained down than he is.

He wishes he knew a way to make Dante truly happy or heal his heart some, but he's at a loss for it because their views are so different. He worries the ways that heal him (music, thinking of his parents, sincere affection, etc) would only hurt Dante, so he hesitates every time. He sometimes frets that just being around as a reminder of the past only serves to hurt him further- which adds further distance. He hopes that someone else has a better answer, or that Dante figures out one himself. He did like hearing that Dante is interested in poli-sci. Find your passions Dante!!

Otherwise, he feels Dante is a good person. He might act like a troll-y party animal, but Elliot has seen his other side. He protected him from Mafuyu, and he saw how he was after the warehouse. There is absolutely no convincing Elliot that Dante is anything but a good person, much to Dante's chagrin.

He just...yeah. In summary, the disney princess worries about Dante's happiness and wishes he knew how to help.

I am YELLING this is so good, Elliot really sees right through Dante and he is spot-on about so much of him. Especially getting the sense that Dante is "more trapped and chained down than he is"--that's something that was absolutely true at game start, though it's definitely begun to change.

Elliot is such a good ;u; I only wish that Dante would actually let him in!
