Despite everything, Akira is a mystery. He feels distant despite the friendliness and several talks they had. He used to be scared of Akira because of what he saw in the phantom thief dream, so that was pretty shocking to see. Also because he associates his worst memory regain with it, but that's not really his fault, so he can't really blame him. He's mostly over seeing Akira's wild side though. But staying true to the title of Akira's series, his multiple personas that Daisuke has seen (he thinks) is the reason why he feels unsure about him. Despite all that though, he can still talk to him and possibly confide. Must be that wild card swag or whatever.
But again, distance. And he's convinced that he's not imagining it either. He thinks Akira is a good person. He's just wondering if it's really okay to try to get closer to him.
