Baren is... well, Chuuya likes him, and he makes Chuuya happy, which is obviously the most important thing here. Shuji doesn't hate him or anything - sure, they had that argument, but Baren prefers it when Shuji's willing to snap at him? - and he's grateful for the rescue, but they can't seem to get along anymore if they ever did, and things would be so much easier if Baren would just fucking explain himself.
Which he's not going to do, apparently, so. Shuji's willing to limit their contact for both their sakes.
