Minato doesn't know Gar very well yet but he's inclined to like him simply out of the sheer childishness that he is- somebody uninhibited, who speaks his mind and plays along with things and has fun with life. Everything that went on in the event was serious business, but it doesn't have to be, and Gar doesn't even get down when Minato's trying his hardest to be a killjoy. When they turn around and liken the forest to a video game to understand it better, Gar played along and Minato was honestly ecstatic because he loves when people play along, from mock-fighting to allowing him a timeout to playing out a redemption arc, that was great. And honestly, Minato has no worries about Gar becoming a good superhero, because what a hero needs isn't super strength or magic powers, but being personable and having an optimistic mindset and he thinks Gar has what it takes.
Haha it's a good thing for Minato bc he doesn't deal well with overly serious people. He'll be cheering for Gar all the way under his blankets where he won't leave for the next seven days!! o7

He's totally ready to be the superhero the City Needs though so he's going to be counting on Minato's moral support!!
