Maybe I just wanted to feel like part of the game, Hei :''( MAYBE I HAVE ALL THE FEELINGS THAT MINATO DOES NOT HAVE OKOK
For Minato, Akira is one of those people who cares about his well-being more than he should, essentially having fallen into the protag trap of revealing his struggles to Akira but not knowing much about Akira in return. It's something he's brought up to Akira, but there's still that persistent feeling that Minato's not putting much into their friendship- a lot of the time, he withdraws and is a little stand-offish around Akira because he's unused to that level of concern. Who flies to somebody's house on the back of a dragon just because he cut his hand? Minato, unfortunately, is very very used to taking care of his own shit, so when other people offer help or barge in with it, he's just gently confused as to why when it isn't necessary. That whole thing about being bribed to take care of himself keeps nagging at Minato because he's made aware that he isn't taking care of himself as well as he thought he was, that it's noticeable to other people to the point that it's concerning, and the fact that he accepts bribes for it speaks volumes of the state of his life. He's probably using Akira as something of an excuse to take care of himself, pretending that he's eating well and sleeping enough and keeping himself out of danger for somebody else's sake instead of his own, and that way he'll make a little more effort. This is probably not a good mindset for him to fall into, but if a want is made clear to him, he'll put other people's wants over his own.
DESPITE ALL OF THAT..... Akira is somebody he's comfortable talking with, over a lot of other people Minato knows, because he isn't afraid to ask direct questions where other people might skirt around the issue. They can talk about serious things and joke around and what Minato appreciates most of all is that Akira doesn't really push, or when he does, he recognizes when Minato needs space. It's the sort of easy going personality that he gets along with best, and it's honestly a huge relief that Akira isn't concerned about being a nice person around him like a lot of other people try to be. Like... he can be a nice, understanding, supportive person and he is often that, but he can also be a shit, and for Minato, that makes him feel genuine.
