L (AU: Linden "Lin" Lawson) | Death Note

((AU workshop link here! Currently going by "Lin" ))

[ Option I ]

[Lin has what is arguably a terrible habit of not being able to leave well enough alone. Loose threads have to be pulled, puzzles have to be solved, paths followed, and mysetrious darkened domes... poked, apparently. Even if it means taking off and leaving his last class of the day wondering if their teacher was going to show. Fifteen minute rule, friends. Enjoy the freedom. It takes him a while to make his way to the base of the dom, and then it does start with poking. Poking. Then more determined prodding. A few half-hearted kicks (in shoes given the snow on the ground so at least his toes aren't in danger.) Nothing nothing nothing.]

Strange... [He says, but it sounds, by his quiet casual tone, like he's remarking on something unremarkable. A moment later and he's bending down to pick up a few rocks, to start to throw those at the dome. Then a stick, the biggest stick he can find, which he's going to bring against the dome with greater force than he looks capable of. Unless he's stopped.]

...

[And then in a flash of blue light and an unpleasant zap, it'll be a while later when dark eyes are blinking open blearily, and Lin finds himself staring up at the darkened sky. He might need a little help.]

[ Option II ]

[One might think, after being electrocuted by an impossible dome, that it'd be a good time to go home for a nap. Or something. But instead, after he gets himself back on his feet, and back in the dark, Lin manages to find himself a snack to build his energy back up (if you can call a full size bag of M&Ms a snack) and is munching away while following a light. Because that's never ended poorly for anyone in any old story or legend. Well. At least he's not alone.]

You know... [A remark to whoever else happens to be chasing modern day will-o-the-wisps along with him,] I really doubt this can end well.

[And yet, he doesn't appear to be stopping.]

[ Option Bonus ]

[Lin isn't expecting the song, and he winces, holding his phone out at arm's length like he wishes he could hold it further away. He's still holding it out this way when suddenly a video chat opens itself.] ...mm. I don't believe I called anyone.

[He's not a big face-timer anyway. He sort of prefers the anonimity of text and email, the occasional voice call. He draws the phone closer, too close, mostly just eyes visible now, wide and black and staring] It seems I've picked up a glitch. [A pause.] That would be you, currently.
