AU WORKSHOP - JANUARY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. Your reserve will not be accepted until you supply the requested AC! FORM PLAYER'S NAME: CHARACTER'S NAME: CANON: AU NAME: If there's a name change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU AGE: Again, if there's an age change at all! If there isn't, you're free to put n/a AU OCCUPATION: Feel free to list if your character is a student (elementary/middle/high school/college), if they own their own business, if they freelance, if they have a stable job, etc. BLURB: Here you should write what you have for your AU; you can list your character's hobbies, who their friends and family are, if they have any particular quirks or interesting pieces of their history, if they're from a wealthy family or if they're struggling to get by, anything you feel is relevant. LOOKING FOR: Are you looking for family members or friends or enemies for your character to be pre-planned? Or are you asking for ideas or feedback on your AU idea? Anything goes, just specify what you would like. OPTIONAL ENABLE ME: Are you torn between which character to app? Let us help! Post your ideas in a comment and let fellow players offer feedback and CR ideas. You can also use this section to ask for canonmates you would like to see in-game whether it be in your specific AU or for different CR. |

when he finally gets his mailman job, yachi will leave outgoing mail in her family's mailbox for him every once in a while!! without postage. so he can debate over whether to take his job seriously and send it back or not.

also you might've read this in the other thread but sakichi would've been sending letters to yachi via his mom during his military service! please tell him everything, he cares very seriously about her life and future aspirations

And yeah, she'll write back essays to make up for the long transit time!!!!! sends him care packages or something, I have absolutely no idea how military service works and am just imagining summer camp

he would've been moving locations fairly frequently, so his letters to her would contain the address she should be sending to... care packages are totally a thing and cute!! he would've been at san diego, CA for 13 weeks of boot camp, then in oklahoma and back to california for additional training... AFTER THAT, he would've been shipped off to a home base somewhere in the world i haven't decided, then eventually deployed for combat likely in the middle east

fun times.............. Yachi's going to fret so much when he's on active duty, it's going to kill her every day thinking what if he's died, i won't know until two weeks later when his letter gets here oR MAYBE IT NEVER COMES BECAUSE HE'S DEAD AND HE CAN'T SEND IT AND

AS I UNDERSTAND IT, soldiers are given government issue phones meant for communication within the chain of command... connections in the middle east especially can be pretty spotty and soldiers in combat zones are generally not supposed to have cell phones on them for security reasons
there are some posts that have internet and computers for use, but i'm just gonna say sakichi didn't have access to those LMAO
in addition, his particular job involved a lot of time spent isolated in enemy territory, so he might've had periods of time where he just couldn't write back regularly... SORRY YACHI
on the upside, his job in theory would not have involved as much direct enemy contact! he would've tried to emphasize that point... DON'T WORRY, EVERYTHING IS FINE MAYBE

sakichi probably wrote back any time he could just because... seriously he has no hobbies, so whenever he wasn't doing humdrum stuff like cleaning his gear, he was probably penning some letter
tbh writing and receiving letters were the highlights of his days and a big reason why he'll be taking his mail carrier job so seriously
