AU WORKSHOP - JANUARY Welcome to Recollé's AU Workshop! On this post players new and old are encouraged to help one another make connections for their AU lives and to ask for or offer ideas if they so choose. Please respond to the post with the below form, and/or feel free to comment to anyone else to work things out! Please be aware that posting to this workshop does not guarantee you a reserve, and that multiple players are permitted to workshop the same character. Please find our mod questions comment here. IMPORTANT INFORMATION World Changes FAQ Game Calendar Plot Finds (ooc knowledge) • Please note: you need a reserve to apply, so please plan accordingly! Reservation dates can also be found on the game calendar and coincide with the TDM. • For current players who are interested in 2nd or 3rd characters, please review and follow our policy about AC! To reserve a 2nd character you must have a pass for the previous month's AC with your first character. For a 3rd character, you must have a pass for the previous two months' AC for both of your characters. In addition, we do ask that the AC for the current month be met and filled into your AC comment by the time of your reserve. It must be full AC. This means you must have 20 comments between at least 2 and at most 4 threads and one memory regain listed for the current month's AC period. BLURB:

• 19 year old college student and computer science major planning to specialize in computer and network security.


• For most of her life she was at a prestigious boarding school in New York. Convinced her parents to let her go away for college, and she decided to head to Recollé U. She has a guardian that she does not live with but whom she regularly sees. I'm thinking an aunt or uncle.


• Ambitious, driven young woman who comes across very put together. She's in debate club, an active competitive dancer (she prefers contemporary and hip hop), and is VERY active in Greek life. She volunteers with her local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Her grades are basically perfect.


• Unsurprisingly, kind of a perfectionist. Not as high-strung as you'd expect, though.


• A kind person who is generally very considerate of the people around her, but poor at handling direct confrontation. She doesn't like to get involved in fights.


• She expresses herself through dance. When not working on her competition routines, she spends a lot of time choreographing interpretive dance to express her thoughts and feelings. Clips of these dances go up on her snapchat and instagram on the regular. She's a big believer in self-expression.


• Beneath her sweet exterior she has a tendency to be a very controlling person. It's the reason behind her drive to go into infosec -- control over systems, programs, and users is, to her, a challenge to be relished. Her attempts to control people in her personal life tend to be very passive and very manipulative. She doesn't always realize she's doing it.


• She's struggled with major depression for most of her teens and is in treatment for it.

LOOKING FOR: Family CR! College CR! Club CR! Dancing CR! There's a billion opportunities here and I really want her to be, like, Deeply Entrenched™ in her community.

We're scrapping New York. Megumi will actually have grown up in Recollé and Akira Turner is her brother! So her name will be Megumi Turner. So, the aunt/uncle is getting scrapped, but pretty much the rest should be the same!

Elliot is also from New York and is a musician, so maybe they've worked together on some community performances before?

SO, NEW YORK IS GETTING SCRATCHED but community performances i'd be down af!! monika will be big into volunteering and doing community service etc. so they can definitely have met that way!

so i have two possibilities that depend on what you would be open to but! if you were open to siblings monika would honestly be like.. the older sister whose shadow maki has lived in for like her whole life. they actually have kind of similar interests and both find it easiest to express themselves through performance, and maki also has a big time case of anxiety and depression. i'd vaguely considered maki growing up in recolle but if you were open to it i could line her up with your stuff instead since i dont have much set in stone.

but if you'd prefer not to go down the line of family CR maki would be like a super huge fan of monika via social media and they would probably run in the same circles since i think maki follows a ton of like instagram choreographers and stuff and has a bit of a following with her musical covers on social media as well!

i think i'm setting up other family CR for her but can we like.... can we build this into found family because i'd die, like maybe they met online a few years ago and developed a bond over music and performance and growing up with depression and so on?? i just think this is so cute......

I have Leon who is also a 19 year old college student whose family owns a computer technology business. He's very well versed in computers so maybe they can chat computer security together? He's also a perfectionist with perfect grades so maybe they could also be possible study buddies and academic rivals?

Ishida here is very dedicated to his studies and currently attends Recolle U. While I don't think he'd get involved in computer science classes, they might've shared some classes together still? Or debate club is something he'd get involved as well!
